There's not enough money in either College or Junior hockey for NIL/NCAA/CHL to be an issue for most Canadian hockey players. Only the top top players will be affected, and even for those players, $20k / semester pales in comparison to the amount they can hope to earn on an NHL ELC. What will happen is that top CHL teams will find creative ways to get top players money on the side, such as through summer employment opportunities.
