I saw the 5-0 scoreline at the end of the second at work and figured Hyman would score 2 for 50 and Matthews would score the empty netter in a 6-4 victory. I'm not even fucking surprised at this point, anybody who watches this team knew they were THINKING about it. Show up for three periods, holy fuck.

How many refs do they need on the ice to make the correct call 80% of the time? Seriously, the league has to do something about the appalling officiating. It seems like every game has many dubious situations. 2 refs, video team and so many blown calls, missed calls, arbitrary calls, make up calls, phantom calls. I dread the playoffs this year for this reason alone. I am no longer a "it is a fast game and difficult to call" apologist. We have all the tools to get it right all the time why not use them? Good game otherwise, little bit of terror there at the end, but the buds never have a smooth easy game. lol!

I look back on that MTL roster in the bubble season and I can see why they won. They had like 4 dmen that were like Edmundson including Edmundson. They were hard and punishing. Glad this dude is a Leafs now.
I’m sure it would be a lot of work for Steve and producer Drew, but other than the games I’ve attended when the leafs have been in Denver, watching a leaves game with Steve doing the commentary was the most fun. I’ve had watching a leafs game.

nice thing about the schedule is that the west is the quality of the OHL… only legit team out there is the avs, only reason their point totals are good is bc of the ducks, sharks and hawks not even being ohl quality…. any time any top 10 team in the east plays any team from the west just assume they will win
The schedule makers have been horrible this year the Rangers had a 5 game west coast trip flew cross country back to Ny for 1 game then flew to St.Louis for a second of a back to back .The Leafs and Rangers get boned because they are the 2 premier franchises no matter what the haters say

It blows my mind that Hyman is a 50 goal scorer. I get he plays with the best player but he looks dangerous every time the puck is on his stick.

Steve highlighted Evan Bouchard's horrible playing. For context, he is +26 on the season (no bad) but is an Oakville native. Think he just had a bad night and the pressure.

The Oilers are more like the Leafs than the Leafs like the Oilers. 4/5 goal comebacks are never out of the question but the Oilers are PP specialists and Zack Andreychuk is a beast this year.
Add 10min and they would have blown that lead…
