I'm really happy for Cooley, it is amazing to see the hometown boy get some love and a chance to live his dream. He may be 26, but Goalies are weird as hell when it comes to development. They can grow and blossom wayyyy later that Skaters and last far longer than skaters do. I think he put on an absolutely amazing show today. I really think he has an amazing chance to, as you said, fill that Dell role for the org. But I hope against hope that he can really grow into himself and hopefully become that hometown rep we need.
Either way, one thing I noticed is with Cooley in, the Sharks have 6 Goalies. When Blackwood and Vanecek are healthy, what do you expect to be done to Cooley? 3 Man rotation on the main roster? 4 Man rotation in the Cuda? Is someone being sent to Wichita? Or is someone destined to be Future Endeavored?
3:55 While I highly doubt it comes to this, you're incorrect on this one. We can tie the head to head tiebreaker with Chicago because, when there are an odd number of games played, you exclude the first home game for the team with an extra home game. You also combined a few of the higher ones…it's regulation wins which you correctly had as 14-12, then non-shootout wins which is 18-15, then wins of any kind which is the 19-16 you mentioned, then head to head.
Edit to add: If we manage to tie on the head to head with a win on Saturday, it's almost unthinkable that we can catch up on the next tiebreaker which is goal differential. We're currently -120 and they're -92. It can be overcome but it's not very likely. If we somehow tie on that it's anyone's game on the goals for tiebreaker, though…we're 2 behind them with a game in hand.
