The New Jersey Devils crapped out in Las Vegas, losing to the Vegas Golden Knights by a score of 3-1 on Sunday March 17th, 2024 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Jake Allen played a great game, making 28 saves on 30 shots.
Our offense was once again nowhere to be found.
Nico Hischier scores the lone goal for the NJ Devils.

Allen was awesome…feel bad for the guy. Team was completely outclassed the entire game.

This team is so broken. Only silver lining was Allen but that’s a moot point now. It’s surreal how yet again we only score only 1 F’in goal and we can’t even hold onto 1 point that was there for the taking?! Fire all coaches (besides Sarge) and Fitz. We need a damn coach that isn’t afraid to sit players no matter who the F they are! This has gotten way too embarrassing. And as for Marino, what do you expect? He’s a soft Harvard tw@t. Sorry, not sorry. Sick of this BS!
Jake Allen Carried them and his the hero of this game. Devils looked like little kids who could not control the pack, sloppy passes and missing the net. What i do not get is when you have a offensive team doing double less amount of shot than knights. Jack Hughes no longer a star missign shots and pretty much not doing much anymore. Desimone amazing defense vs Luke Hughes giving up puck to knights for a free shots. I am no longer going to watch anymore devils games, it's too depressing.
Timo Meier did not interfere, it should have counted. He even lifted his leg to not hit him. It is Vegas, of coarse it didn't count, they have Bettman in their pocket.

How does this not get Fitz fired? We need a new GM and a new butt kicking coach. I really feel for the players. They are playing not to get hurt and survive for next season.
We definitely need some defensive muscle. Also, I had a bad feeling that it was a mistake not picking up Patrick Kane back when he was up for grabs…."we don't need him, they said…."
Every fan of this team wants to see another 35, 40 more games this year before Garbage Bag Day but this team is like, 'Nahhh, that's OK, we're good.'

Craig Berube won me over as head coach with this team for next season. He had some good thoughts for what the Devils should be doing during the intermission reports on TNT. Fire Green. Hire Berube. Keep Allen. Get rid of Marino, Siegenthaler, and Palat.
They really need to fix this team up and down bring in a good coach and some good vet players..there a young team but they show no balls out there… fitz worries me that it just the goaltending i think its way more than that..

As much as I would like to bitch about the coaching, how the hell do 4 players allow that to happen late in a tie game in the 6th month of the season? I just don’t see how you come back with the core group of these players. There’s absolutely zero urgency and a serious lack of accountability.

Would have preferred to see Hatakka in the lineup over Luke or Marino this afternoon.
Called it they would have been better if they didn't get rid of our top goal scorer we we're in a spot where we could have made it to the playoffs but now we have no chance and we're not getting a top 5 pick cause of us getting jack in the first and I don't know if we can bounce back next year cause of the coaching team behind the bench

Also Jack Hughes im sorry to say it but he’s not a franchise player. He’s a midget who can barely stay on his feet I would have no problem moving him for someone like Brady tkachuk rebuild this team
Regardless of some wanting Saros, we cannot afford to have a goalie as our highest paid player. Saros is a top 5-3 goalie, he can name his price.

Like we said yesterday, szn is over. A lot of decisions and moves to be made this summer. Rubber needs to meet the road, Fitz – do your job and make it happen.
Marino, Siegenthaler, Palat, play like bums. I wish all three could be gone next season. And yes if Fitz makes Allen the starter with Daws as the backup, it'll be the same ol crap.
That was lame "interference" call against Timo Meier. But I have had enough of this defense. Must hold Fitzgerald's feet to the fire about fixing this team.

This team has too many holes and bad contracts. Can't afford a top notch goalie plus 2 nasty D-men and 2 gritty forwards. No one is taking our garbage (Seigs, Marino, Palat). We are stuck for 3-4 more years. Jake Allen for starter baby!
Great point about Marino, and it got me thinking, how many other players have really regressed this year, both compared to last year and throughout this season? I'd say: Marino, Siegenthaler, Jack Hughes, Luke Hughes, Vanacek, Schmid, Mercer. And let's not even talk about the handful of other players who have just stagnated. That is a total indictment of the coaching staff, but also of the roster construction. When you think about it, this team went so quickly from looking like the window was opening to having no identity at all and having to do essentially a mini-rebuild in the off season. Very painful to consider.

Allen trying to steal this game for them but they just can't get the puck on net. Some sort of rework probably needs to happen in conjunction with a Sarros or Markstrom acquisition. I'm scared that if we land one of these goalies but don't make other moves, in my opinion starting with getting rid of smith and siegs, the same woes of this season repeat themselves regardless of the goalie. Our speedy "offense minded" team is exposing the work that needs to be done to at minimum get shots on net and score goals at critical moments. Jack and Bratt need to be doing better in a stretch like this… Most talks from here are likely orientated around next season sadly. That RWJ Barnabas Heath liver joke at the end had me floored. On a serious note go easy on the booze though mon.
this team has gotten so depressing, doesn't even look like they want it.. they found a goalie that could've made a huge turnaround and make the playoffs but they don't even find offense now that they have a goalie

Was at the game today, it was bad hockey all the way around. Both teams looked like a joke out there but Luke was really pissin me off tonight. Bad passing and straight up turnovers in our end. Good lord!
I have written about Jake Allen needing a good team in front of him to be a good goalie. I feel bad for him that he ended in Newark. He deserves a better fate. He has to stand on his head like in Dallas to get a win wherever he has been.
