For years after the only time Fox would wear his ring was road games in Anaheim. Brian Hayward is an asshat of the highest order.

This video is like the origin of a longstanding curse. I would bet that Hayward is very aware of this moment and internally cringes whenever it crosses his mind.
That said, he’s gotten a lot better with age… I don’t mind listening to him at all these days.

Hayward is hands down the worst announcer in pro hockey, maybe all of sports. He is an arrogant blowhard homer. Jim Fox, on the other hand, is all class.
I hope Brian Hayward looks back on this and dies of cringe every single time he remembers what followed afterwards.
