    At that point, the goalie has to knock the net off and take the penalty.

    Since we were talking about throwing sticks the other day, what Laughton to get rid of his stick should have been a penalty.

    When a player has to get rid of stick cause it broke, it HAS to be dropped straight to the ice.

    This happened to me in NHL one time and I remember thinking “stupid video game, this would never happen in real life”
