As a Devils fan, it doesn't bother me or nor do I care. He had a clause in a contract that he worked for, if he thought he wouldn't play in NJ regardless of how foolish it sounds then more power to him. Devils should've moved on to a next option like Kahkonen or something along those lines.

Its Jersey…if it wasnt for Gallant the Devils wouldnt be looked at in any positive light.
It helped the tanking and the reason wasn't ridiculous. It was a logical thought, after all, it's a life altering choice to move and be in a worst position.
He most likely thought that Jersey would do same thing as Montreal Detroit!

I think Allen didn't want to move from Montreal during the season so he didn't play as hard as he could hoping his trade would take place during the summer.
Allen dragged Montreal on his back the 2 years they saw post season action.
I think he will turn up his play and possibly drag NJ into the playoffs.
