Guy averaged 50+ games a year the 3 years before the Kings got him, what did they expect him to all of sudden play 82? He's never played a full season, 80 games once and upper 70's twice in his entire career!

Normally i'd respond with "Because it's a dirty tactic that we all know is supposed to be illegal by NHL rules" but since the NHL isn't doing anything about it, i'd say go for it. You never know when all it could take for the NHL to step in and do something is for more teams to take advantage of it and anger just the right people [which would most likely be other owners who feel their team was scammed out of a series win (maybe even the Stanley Cup) because their opponent was ":::insert absurd number::: dollars over the cap", because if fan outrage could lead to this loophole being closed, it would've been closed after the Lightning won their 2nd straight cup back in 2021 and we wouldn't be having this conversation]
