Trading Byram was a gutsy move. It is easier to find a Mitteldstadt then a Byram type. I can't give McFarland too much credit for wasting a first round pick to get out of the mess he created in the first place
My personal theory on Landeskog is that the Avs need to make the WCF or SCF for it to be a possibility. Round 1, Game 1 doesn't make sense.
By the WCF, you are looking at 2-4 weeks max. Then another 4 months before regular season where he can take more time even.
Doctors eventually need information from full speed games. He might mostly be the door opener on the bench in the Cup Finals. As a test case, conditioning stint type, it makes sense to me. The feedback from a week or two gives doctors better data to approach the summer treatments.

For my money, the craziest 20 minutes were the Kariya and Selanne signings.
