The Anaheim Ducks are pushing for a playoff spot next year. That’s what GM Pat Verbeek told season ticket holders at the 2nd annual Ducks Migration event this past Saturday, and by looking at their performances the last 2 games it’s hard to see it. So I’m gonna give my thoughts on the last 2 games vs the Dallas Stars & New York Islanders and give my thoughts on what Verbeek said at the migration event in this video!

If we win the rest of the games we can maybe make the wild card
It’s gonna be hard to see it defiantly. Three years there gonna be in the playoffs
The starts lately have been extra ugly and really have been looking a lot alike. It is nearly a guarantee they will give up the first goal in the first 4 shots against. The idea of a playoff spot is laughable and straight up delusional. I'd say the Chicago Bedards will see a playoff berth before us especially after the first overall draft pick they're sure to win in the offseason.
So, will there actually be accountability for Verbeek and Cronin if we don't make the playoffs?
34mil cap space in the summer and 7 picks in the first three rounds of 2024 draft, playoffs could be in sight realistically
It’s a long shot but crazier things has happened lol
Verbeek has been great and I like Cronin too. I really think we need a captain though. The coach is important for fostering that competitive spirit, but having a defined leader playing on the ice with the players could go a long way. Someone has got to keep these guys competitive because it sucks seeing them give up on games
Verbeek has his work cut out from him. The Montreal fans will not be happy about Zegras staying in Anaheim.
The stars would really have to align to make a run at the playoffs next year lol like signing Reinhart, drafting Levshunov or Dickinson(or Celebrini of course), and pretty much everyone on the core taking big leaps otherwise yeah it won't happen. Also glad to see you back!
Just look at it this way. With leo Z and cutter not in the lineup. We are pretty much fielding a team with no first line. That itself will be a huge upgrade to the team next season.
Great video, nice insight on the situation that they're having. I think that the ducks will eventually be a really good team, they just need direction and focused motivation. But they have really good talent that has proven to work hard. (sometimes lol)
Look I love the Ducks but making the playoffs next year is what he said this year but I don't think this team is even close to be in the playoffs for another of couple of years. Sure Ducks will have 34 million in cap space in the off season but honestly though there will be other teams who will offer more since Ducks hate over spending.
Im not sure how good Cronin is but god damn Eakins was a disaster
“Pushing for playoffs” doesn’t mean he thinks they’ll make it. He just wants them to be competitive and have some meaningful games
Honestly I don’t think the duck should rush the the process but they are going sign an bunch of one years that can flip at the deadline if your not good
appreciate everything you do for the ducks community!
Verbeek is gonna bring in Stamkos.. He mentioned he needs to sign a Right handed scoring winger..
Idk if this means anything but in the islanders game during the second period, wild wing and the DJ put on the 2022 ducks retro reverse Jersey. Then in the 3rd they put back on the regular black home jersey. So are the ducks trying to hint at a rebrand?
Oh god it’s literally Cronins first season as coach give him a break
If they make it, they might meet the Flames next playoffs! 😁
Is z back yet? His birthday is next Wednesday!
