Can the Canucks survive without Demko down the stretch?

On a scale of 1-10, how worried should Maple Leafs fans be about Mitch Marner’s injury? Can the Canucks survive without Thatcher Demko down the stretch? TSN Hockey analyst Martin Biron joins SC with Jay Onrait to share his thoughts.

  1. “The Stretch” where the remaining half includes Buffalo, Washington, Montreal, Anaheim, and Calgary in no particular order

    DeSmith will be fine.

  2. Yeah Desmith's got it. Its gonna be nice for the team to get some rest and training for once this season, it sounds crazy but they're only going to look better heading into the playoffs. Also Leafs fans, if you see this, just wanna let you know if not Vancouver this year, Im cheering for you guys. You're the only other Canadian team I like, all the others suck or are just kinda there. Hope you guys find a way to beat Boston this year, after that you never know what could happen in the playoffs…. good luck down the stretch!

  3. Relax, DeSmith will be fine. With our regular top 6 D are in he’s been solid. Honestly Soucy doesn’t get enough credit for how good of a job he’s done on the blue line

  4. Time for Canucks to hunker down for the playoffs and play tight D down the stretch to get into that defensive gritty form

  5. Why the title for this clip when it's more than a minute into the clip before you discuss Demko?

  6. Not concerned with remainder of the season . But if Demko is not 100 percent by the playoffs. And Vancouver plays Vegas 1st round. Expect a dramatic 7 game double overtime win by Vegas eliminating The Canucks in the 1ST ROUND.

  7. Obviously don't like seeing Demko be out with an injury (whether major or not), but what a pretty cool opportunity for DeSmith. As a backup, you want to show your value to the team. Casey's won his games but never really got all of his flowers, so this is a great time for him to show just how valuable he is to be apart of the team

  8. DeSmith has 43 goals against in 16 starts when you don't include the 8 goals he gave up in that bizarre game against Minnesota. The Canucks have also scored 52 goals in those 16 starts. If they can sustain those stats in the ~8 games that Demmer is out, the Canucks will be fine and they have 10 points on Edmonton anyways.
