As far as cap circumvention goes: what about having a third party doctor evaluate the players on LTIR every couple of weeks? That way if a team is holding out to get to the playoffs but the third party says hes good, then he has to go off LTIR ( IE: if you gross overspend because of LTIR and one of your players gets healthy before the playoffs, someone that you don't want to put on waivers is going on waivers, to make the cap work ) maybe give a one week grace period or something because of the unknowns, but at least a team couldn't hold a player back whose ready just so they can have 15 million in extra player value in the playoffs.

Lindholm definitely wouldn't want to be here after this rumour got leaked. What a PR nightmare. If it's just a rumour, management should have nipped it in the butt. The fact they haven't leads me to believe they are shopping him.
If they can't land Guentzel, they need to move Lindholm to another team or risk having a lame duck player on their roster.
