Fact is the Oilers have been winning with the current roster. Its not like they desperately needed someone to save the team. Holland was probably looking for the right guys that would add, but not disrupt the chemistry. The 2 guys coming in could be inserted or shuffled around in the bottom 6 without screwing with the top 6. Although, that being said, there seem to be a pretty obvious vacancy open on line 2 that maybe could have been filled with a little more aggressive deal making by Holland. Henrique is really not that glaringly obvious locked in line 2 guy. So, are we right back where we started from with same musical chair vacancy on line 2? It seems so. In my opinion this trade made sense in some ways, and does not make sense in other ways. The forward line up is locked in now. If anything else is going to happen it's going to be on the D.
only Kenny Holland gives up 1st rounders for 34 year old players, last year Ekholm, this year Henrique. This will catch up to them down the road, better hope you win it all.
The vet d I can see to come in and be our 7th is Marc Staal, They just signed Seeler to an extension so I’d guess he could be a guy moved for relatively cheap. I know they’ve been interested in the past.
It’s amazing how different this comment section is compared to the beginning of the year. Great job turning the season around! What a story it would be if they go all the way to the cup this year!

pretty sure goaltending and defence are more important during playoffs than 7 centre men
