This Day in Kings’ History (2014): Kings acquire Marian Gaborik

On March 5, 2014, the Kings acquired right wing Marian Gaborik from the Columbus Blue Jackets for Matt Frattin, a second round pick and a third round pick. Gaborik led the NHL with 14 playoff goals, and won a Stanley Cup championship ring with the Kings in 2014.

Absolutely loved Gabby, he also seemed to have a ton of chemistry with Kopi which is unfortunately more rare then I thought

One of my all-time favorite players even before he was a King. Used to trade for him in franchise mode every time I played EA NHL as a kid.

Nearly won the CS in 2014 before JWill snatched it from him.

    Huge get for the Pl’offs.

    Really proved the haters wrong.

Top 5 trade in Kings history. (Gretzky, Carter, Richards & Justin Williams).

  6. That contract we gave him after though was rough. Should’ve been much shorter considering his injury history.

Best deadline pickup all time if you ask me, no way we would’ve won the cup without him that year.
