ESPN NHL Analyst Ray Ferraro joined the guys to chat about what the Canucks need to add ahead of the trade deadline, which team is his Stanley Cup favourite and what he would change with the NHL playoff format.
There's two ways to look at the Canucks needs. What they want, which is a Guentzel/Buchnevich/Toffoli a 3c/4c Wennberg type and a 3rd pair D to replace Soucy when he's hurt or Cole if he keeps taking penalties in the 3rd because he's tired like Schultz. And then what they can afford. Toffoli or Wennberg and Schultz which would cost Mikheyev as a dump (I like Ilya more than everyone else but money has to go out) + a first + a prospect in Abbotsford right now.
Bye isnt smart. It make it unfair for 1 team. Cause they will tired , and other will be fresh . We have ton remember. They only get 3 days off until next round. Unless they sweep the team. Nfl they get 1 whole week off until they play the bye team. Huge difference.

During the bubble year they had a play in round. If there wasn’t a plandemic going on and the arenas would be packed and the cities would be bumping!

Ray is bang on regarding the current playoff format, it's good but can be so much better! Hopefully Bettman is listening but I doubt it!
The owner of a first place with a bye would not go for it. They see the missing gate in the first round not the long term benefits.
