He’s been literally invisible for so long now… Hope he can find his game!
Last year wizardry came quite easy. Puck touches were turned into magic. He just needs a body break. I say two weeks for sure.
I'm worried for him. He's a young player and this has got to be a real shot to his confidence. We need to find a way to rebuild his confidence and find his game once again. GO JETS GO!
Remember he is a young, smart, hockey player, and this is his first time playing in a full season. I am not worried at all, Bones did the right thing, to scratch him, he just needs a to reset his mind, body and his soul. He will find his confidence again, he is a fighter, we just need to think positive that he will find it sooner than later. 💙GO JETS GO!💙
He is a good young strong player. He will be ok
Cole looks very scared out there. Thats the problem not skill.
Isn’t he a natural center?
Jets are great at developing players I think. A time out will be good for his professional development. He’ll be back scoring goals soon enough.
They should have scratched him along time ago. He’s a young player, he’ll bounce back.
Healthy Scratch is not even bad at all. Look at Schmit. How many times did he got scratched and look how he plays now?
Sitting instead of playing CAR against a team that drafted Seth Jarvis who was NHL ready on an already very good team AND drafted after Perfetti…this was a recipe for high Perfetti hate and not undeserved. I would have drafted Jarvis.
I hope Cole understands that this is the first time in what, 6 years, that the team is showing great promise. Fans are voicing their opinion more because of the potential we have to go deep this season. And maybe people have more hot takes than usual. If he is at all paying attention to the social media, I wouldnt if I was a player😅
I'm not sure how much better Perfetti is going to improve. He might gain some bulk in next couple of years but don't see him as a top six player on a contending team. He doesn't fit with the Lowry line and isn't your typical fourth line player. So where does that leave him? Pretty much a 13th forward. Injuries in your top six bump him up, if he's playing on the fourth line maybe some second unit PP time. His trade value has dropped with his play as of late he's kind of in limbo right now, reminds me of Jack Roslovic.
Hes a young kid who hasn't played a full season yet. He's tired, needs a bit of a break to get re set. Nothing wrong with this for a young player. Not worried at all.
He'll live.
I was never sold on him, but i hope he figures it out.
He’s young and it’s a long season. I think it’s both physical and mental… he’ll figure it out. Lots of good mentors on the team…
i gotta hunch he is getting traded at the deadline
you got my interest
I’d be swapping prospects with some other team on this guy.
Perfetti looked like a boy at the start of the year… He started producing enough to get himself in over his head. From the looks of it, there's not much he can do, he needs to play bigger, stronger and move to more dangerous spots on the ice, and that's not going to happen till he learns that life isn't fair and pain is part of the game.
When Kyle Connor struggled in his early days with the Jets, he found himself on the Moose. To gain confidence and scoring touch.
Cole is a great kid and very talented. Just wonder with his size and lack of speed that he may not fit into Winnipegs defence first style… Hope things turn to the good for Cole…
I am a jets yes he not doing good but i don't think we will not trade him because he is really young he now got a point now
He is young, this happens to lots of youngsters. His upside is very high and he will be a solid roster player once he resets.
Small guys have a tough time in the NHL. I say the same thing about Ehlers, because while Ehlers has height, he's never put much size on since juniors. When these guys naturally become targets for other teams trying to slow down the Jets scoring and if you're not built for the 82 game grind plus a playoff run, you'll fall off as the season progresses.
Personally, I feel that our team should be gutted from the ground up. I'm move Bowness & Chevy into some sort front office capacity and replace them with Derek Clancey (GM), Mike Velluci (HC) & Mike Sullivan (Executive VP). All proven winners from the Pittsburgh Penguins organization that can teach our organization how to properly develop players, win & sustain winning. I'd trade Kyle Connor, (as unpopular as that might seem), Cole Perfetti, Laurent Brossoit, Logan Stanley & Colby Barlow in a mega blockbuster 3 team trade between the Buffalo Sabres & New York Rangers where we get Casey Middlestat, K'andre Miller, Ukko Pekka – Lukko & Barclay Goodrow to our team.
Perfetti was rockin during the IIHF championship. He was one of Team Canada's best players. But he has lost his confidence. It was painful last night to watch him jump for the puck, miss it and then the play leads to a goal. His height is not his fault, obviously.
Chill out. He’s a SMART kid who will figure it out. Remember #55 was “too weak too fragile?”
No one said he is a bust.
