NHL Highlights | Canucks vs. Ducks – March 3, 2024
Casey DeSmith made 17 saves to earn his eighth win of the season and Connor Garland’s tally midway through the second held up as the game-winner as the Vancouver Canucks held on to defeat the Anaheim Ducks 2-1.
What a difference having Vasily Podkolzin in the lineup instead of Bains…Nice to see Vancouver finally came to their senses & sent Bains back down to the AHL…The Canucks played smart defensively today & dominated the majority of the game out shooting the Ducks 31-18…. If it wasn't for Dostal, Vancouver would have won this game by a larger margin….On a different note, Lindholm continues to struggle with just 1 point over the last 8 games, & that turnover he had in the final minute of the game when he had all kinds of time to clear the puck out of his own zone was just brutal…Petty also needs to start getting after it….He inked that long term contract he wanted… No more distractions…Get After It!!
Dostal will be a very good goaltender for the Ducks, he made this game a lot closer than it should have been. Podkolzin needs to stay in the lineup, he played really, really good. I’m happy for DeSmith finally got a win after so long, couldn’t really do anything on that first goal but he came up big when he needed to be.
Shorthouse just can't go through a game without saying a shot off the goal post beat the goalie. Everywhere else in the world in every sport you only beat the goalie when you score.

This was always a "W" in the calendar. The real test is Kings, Knights then Jets. If they can go atleast 1-1-1, than Id say the slide is over.

Watching Hughes skate and control the play in the offensive zone is a thing of beauty.
I see that the Canucks are getting better now. They raised their defenses, skated better, and didn’t take too much penalties, with only one taken.
Hughes’ skating and assist for Hoglander was awesome to watch. Nice to see the Captain with killer moves.
DeSmith did a great job out there, especially on the final seconds of the third period. His saves were incredible there.
