Tell me that he expects other bids on the land so that whole thing might not necessarily play out in the coyote favor anyway now Morgan claims that there are multiple parties on the ground that are interested in discussing a sale with the NHL to keep that coyotes local uh the

Heila River Indian Community could be one of them Phoenix Suns owner Matt iseba he’s kind of like lurking in the shadows right now we’re not really sure what his situation is with this team but he’s obviously going to look to buy it at a discount if he’s going to buy it at

All to pair with the Suns and try to get a new Arena could the could the NHL take the team over again in the meantime I mean they did own the coyotes for a while uh about a decade ago in a a very dark time for NHL ownership um so those

Are on the table and as is of course relocation um obviously Salt Lake City is the one we all have our eyes on but I still think that’s a nuclear option Arta because like are the owners really want to do they really want to keep a billion

Dollars of expansion money off the table and that’s essentially what you’ll be doing if you allow the coyotes to relocate I think the next two expansion cities for the NHL are probably Salt Lake City in Atlanta so if the coyotes move to SL and ain’t the dollars in the pockets of

The owners that they probably want from Ryan Smith the owner of the Jazz I think the bottom line for me is that I don’t know if we’ve come to the end of the road of the coyotes in Arizona but it’s increasingly looking like we’ve come to the end of the road

Of Alex MLL owning the coyotes in Arizona I think I’ve come to the end of the road of uh this Saga I would love a lot more clarity uh I think a lot of NHL fans would love Clarity on what the immediate future of the coyotes will be

Part of me is very surprised I’m not surprised because of Connor Bard I think that would be a good Spotlight game for him I think that that from that angle it makes sense uh I don’t like the blues as an opponent I get the whole rivalry

Angle of it but I mean it’s a destination game wish it’s a it’s one of those games on the calendar that you can have a lot of fun with and you can you know mix and match Superstars you could have had the Connor verse continue at

The Winter Classic as an example but uh I one thing I will say is that I’m sure that Wrigley Field will look a lot more jazzed up this time around it’ll look really cool it’ll you all the bells and whistles but what what did you make of

This well I’d like to say that you know when it comes to the Winter Classic I would like to in in stall a rule called the called the force awakens Rule and that rule states that any Winter Classic that was held before Star Wars uh the

Force awakens was released can be on the table for a revisit so that means Fenway was Wrigley is that means hindes field that means Michigan Stadium anything that came out before the force awakens we can go back to and the bottom line for Rigley is just like the bottom line

For Fenway which is that they did did those stadiums before they figure out how to do the Winter Classic you know Steve Mayer uh the chief content officer for the NHL we’ve talked to him before on the drop he’s really found a way to create these events and make them you

Know exceptional and make them a spectacle and they certainly didn’t know how to do that back when they went to Wrigley the first time all I remember it was very windy that’s all I remember about that game Detroit and Chicago yeah it was very very they had a wi assisted

Goal in that game so you know giving him a chance to I don’t know put a bunch of ivy around the rink or whatever like I think is very exciting so the Force awakens rule Arta anything that happened before the force awakens came out we can

Uh revisit it in the Winter Classic that was 2015 so are you saying in a couple years you’re going to have the last Jedi Rule and then like a couple years after that you’re going to have the rise of Skywalker rule like are we just gonna

Like in 2048 are you gon to have the Mandalorian and grou rule like it’s just going to keep moving it’s possible The Last Jedi rule states that every Winter Classic will have people that vehemently love it and vehemently hate ha it I believe that is true uh let us know in

The comments what you think about the Chicago Blackhawks and St Louis Blues being in the next Winter Classic I do agree just one last point I know I said this before yeah go ahead uh I do agree I think Steve Mayer has done a great job

Fantastic he’s a 919 save percentage across 19 games he’s 124 and two he started the last three games and he’s l in two or less goals in each of those starting assignments meanwhile Igor shurkin an 899 save percentage very unlike him his VZ I said nearing har

Trophy caliber season uh but he is 1912 and one in 32 games but now the conversation shifts to do we have a new starting goalie on our hands on Broadway is Jonathan Quick the one that the Rangers stick with wish for the remainder of the season is this a 1A 1B

Situation how do you assess the Rangers goal tending situation right now I mean do you start Jonathan Quick in the stadium series I mean do you not start your guy I mean I mean is this a Eddie laac uh Roberto langoo I mean I mean like Peter Lavette

Has said that chest’s our guy and trouba has talked about how they had the utmost faith that he’s going to rebound and quick called him the best goalie in the world the bottom line is that the Rangers played better with jonath the quick and goal it is indisputable at this point

That he has been the better goalie statistically and the Rangers have played better in front of him this season so I’m here for the goalie controversy baby I am old enough to remember the house on days of John Van bebook versus Mike RoR ARA I’m I’m happy

We’re circling back again for some good old goalie controversy in New York I mean it’s a little bit different in the sense that you know Quick’s old you’re pretty much talking about who’s going to be the starter for the rest of the season uh and in the context of that

You’re also talking about you know you don’t want to hurt the feelings of the guy that’s your guy going forward but there’s no question who the best goalie for the Rangers is right now and it’s Jonathan Quick inexplicably there uh this problem does not exist in Boston uh obviously the greatest tandem that

Has been our NFL prognosticator this season I talked to him about the Super Bowl and a lot more including whether he’s surprised the Bruins are this good and I think his answer was pretty interesting by the way what you just said just proves that quick and shuriken

Played lacrosse the longest honestly and it would it would always be kind of funny like because those they don’t really understand i’ be like man I’m I think I’m good at this hockey thing I don’t want to miss hockey but like if you miss their sport so if

You would miss like lacrosse practice he’d be like you’re not playing this weekend so you can never have the best of both worlds but I wish I could have had that with football a little while longer uh because I loved it so there was never a point in the Multiverse

Where you could have been Mark Bavaro right like you were always gonna be better at hockey right I I would imagine I was never gonna be Mark Bavaro my dad actually we went I went to a Giants game with my dad and he actually I bought him a Mark Bavaro Jersey

Nations faceoff with the US Canada Sweden Finland what were your thoughts on that tournament for next season yeah I thought it was really cool um just really exciting uh you know at the prospect of playing you know some hockey for Team USA again um you know

It’s been a little bit uh some of the best memories I’ve had in in hockey and and it’s always an honor uh to do so I’ve had the dream of being an Olympian you know since the first time I ever watched it and then 2010 when they almost won

The gold medal um I remember that I remember sitting on the couch watching that with my family and how special that tournament was to to view and then to you know to internalize that and be like man that’s where I want to be so to have

The opportunity to do it I know we thought we had it last go around and that was equally as exciting and then kind of equally disappointing when it got pulled but um you know hopefully there’s there’s no unforeseen stuff that could uh you know that could throw a

Wrench in this and we get to see it through and and you know hopefully as long as I do everything I can I’ll be able to to play on that team yeah people don’t understand how close it came with Beijing like you told me you had to submit your measurements for your Ralph

Lauren like opening ceremonies or closing ceremonies gear right yeah it was every they you know you could see all the names that are on the list and we had we had gone as far as having you know like a a long they a long list right um you

Know and then that we got on a zoom call and and that was with the coaching staff and the general manager so you have all these guys that are in the player pool um you know with the prospect of making the team and um you know you have to

Give you know sort of home addresses and I think there’s you know they can come and drug test you and stuff like that like wada and then you go through you know your measurements for stuff like that you’re kind of filling out like this this pre pregame application and we

Made it all the way into the season into the winter time so we were getting kind of close to February and then I think they called it I don’t know month month and a half before two months so when all those outbreaks happened and it would

Have you know would have been hard but yeah it was uh you know it was cool because you’re doing all these things and you’re getting excited about it just hoping you know just as long as my play can can uh you know can stay well and

Get a chance to go but um but it’ll be equally uh you know as exciting this time around if we get to uh if we get to do it and obviously I hope I hope we will and then the four nations too um Boston and Montreal two two of the best

Cities I think and in the league for for hockey um you know obviously if I get to play in that uh a little bit of home ice for me would be would be awesome um having you know living here in Boston year round so uh I know it’s only four

Teams and I understand what its placeholder is and a pasta was kind of upset um you know because the Cs have a have a great hockey country yeah uh but as I understood it it was sort of just like what they put together in the short

Time and then it’ll it’ll be a you know a first step towards World Cup of Hockey again where everybody will be able to play yep exactly and then obviously they announced that the allstar game like you said 2026 2030 Olympics for the NHL players all right here’s your chance

Some real noise and there USA Hockey group chat no I have a lot I have a lot of guys from my my ncdp team and stuff a lot of them you know a lot of them were at the wedding and okay and uh you know we stay close we’ve had some amazing experiences

Whether it be World Juniors or or u8s and stuff you know those things kind of kind of give you a really special bond um so I I it would be it would be really unique and and obviously some of the names are are the same to think about if

We got a chance to go and play this H it would be sort of a a reunion that’d be awesome finally uh the Bruins have been one of the best stories of the season so far you know pressing for the president’s trophy again after losing some key players after last season and

Suffering that devastating loss in the playoffs in the first round has this season been a surprise for you at all or did you were you confident that the Bruins still had this kind of season in them I thought you rely upon the culture I guess and that is and that is a

Winning culture culture um you know sort of doing doing all the things you need to do in order to win but I was definitely surprised uh I I’ll say it you know for won’t hide it I was you know we lost a lot of guys and I think maybe it was

The outside noise that kind of you know sort of and and I I think I embraced sort of an underdog role this year and I think our team did as well and as we started stringing together our identity and and winning more and more hockey

Games um I was kind of like you know how a little bit of how are we doing this and then then it sort of clicked like okay you know this this isn’t luck this isn’t like we’re we’re a really good hockey team again are we built like last

Year no not at all we’re more of a put it in deep team now versus line Rush we’re more of a wear you out behind the net than we are you know sort of csyc on making skill skill play is High um we’re doing it a completely different way this

Year but you know when I look back on it now I will say like you know the goalie stayed the same the defense stayed the same we got a we got new guys up front um but at those two pillars were you know they we we got better in those two areas Um not much changed you know there was there was familiarity with our structure and stuff like that so uh it worked out really well and then our forwards you know have been getting better and better every you every game this year Pleasant surpris indeed all right you heard it

Not my speculation it’s not a computer spitting out a bunch of potential winners it’s the actual voters sharing with me their current ballots for these Awards so the heart trophy leader is is Nathan McKinnon because he’s a top the vast majority of the voters ballots right now with um with Connor huk and

Nikita cocher off right behind him do you like that top three ARA I do it’s a solid strong top three I would say honestly should we give the the the heart trophy to uh to to more goalies is the question I look I was on that shuren

Train very hard I I really felt like a the thing the thing I will ask though is Connor hel Conor heluk is a fantastic goenda heluk is definitely worthy of conversation for the vzna and for the heart trophy my question to you is is he the most

Valuable player to his team compared to every other team I don’t think he is I I actually think I was a little surprised to see COV not get more love and and I I did collect these ballots before his lack of days that did not influence the voting

Did not influence the voting but uh but I I mean you look at the gap between him and the next highest score on the lightning it’s pretty remarkable that he’s not getting more support for MVP because he really has like shephered the lightning through some real adversity

Vasilow’s not played well now uh the injury to to uh to sergachev which we uh we saw a very emotional Instagram post from sergachev before the show talking about the injury that you know potentially could cost him the rest of the season so I I would I would hope

That that COV gets a bit more support going forward and quite frankly if McDavid continues to produce the way he does uh he’s knocking one of these guys out of top three it might even be hellu uh but but that that can’t take away from help we’ll talk about the VZ in a

Minute what about the Norris yeah Queen Hughes has been leading this award for the last three months Mar has been the only other player to get a first place vote Noah Dobson’s been getting some down ballot support but it’s Quinn’s award to lose and it seems like as long

As he stays healthy then that’s going to just be the situation for them going forward I’ve been really impressed with the way he’s played and imagine he’ll maintain that pace quick thing on defenseman Quinn Hughes and kale marar both on Pace for a 100 plus Point

Seasons if they are to do that it would be the first time in NHL history two defensemen break the 100 Point barrier in the same season which is pretty remarkable wow uh The Calder Calder yeah this was the big one man Bard had been the unanimous choice in consecutive

Seasons or consecutive months I should say and uh all of a sudden with him out of the lineup with the broken jaw Brock Faber catches up it is a 5050 split for first place votes for Rookie of the Year between Faber and Bard that’s amazing to

Me yeah I love that and and and good for the Minnesota Wild that they have two Marco Rossi Brock f so you know at least the the future is bright in Minnesota even if uh this season is less than fortunate for wild fans yeah we all and also like that
