Sadly a defenseman trade seems inevitable this summer. We’ve been running a carousel on defense all year and guys like Hutson, Reinbacher, Mailloux and Konyushkov are all going to be knocking on the door soon.

I feel as thought people’s expectations of Xhekaj need to be heavily lowered. He gets way too much criticism for a guy that was undrafted at not only the NHL level but the OHL as well. I understand making the mistakes he has is costly, but he’s also still a young defenceman who is still developing. I think fans need to seriously temper their expectations for an undrafted player like him.
