   Amusing just how far Nylander's point production has fallen since he signed his lottery winning 8 year deal. They gave this guy "game changing" money and he packed it in from trying.
   Marner is a scaredy cat and isn't winning anyone dick all.
   Hard to fault Matthews with pretty much anything.
   Tavares, phew, talk about losing a step. It was too be expected. He'll play out his contract and hopefully Leafs move in a different direction.
   Knies should continue to develop unless they want to trade him to pay for Marner. Don't laugh, remember Zach Hyman and the lack of cap money for him?
   Not much in the system and few draft pics left after the Dubas era.
   Bottom six or AHL all stars?
   Goaltending is a crap shoot.

   But you go ahead Leafs. Just keep overpaying and dumpster diving year after year. It'll always provide jobs for players that likely shouldn't even be in the league.

   Perfectly stated ! In Leaf-land it seems like we treat signing a high priced player the equivalent to winning a Stanley Cup . We forgot what its like to go all the way to winning a cup so we sign outrages contracts that many teams can't do just to make us feel like we won something or were superior in some way . The Leaf's should be the team everyone in the league wants to play for and if management was doing their job correctly we wouldn't need to overpay for players to come and play here . Marner is a great player but I don't want to hear his attitude for another 8 years … I am done with him . Let him move along and wish him well ! NO PLAYER IS BIGGER THEN THE TEAM !

   I 100% agree with this especially around Brendan Shanahan.
   I know this if Tim Leiweke was here this experiment would have ended 5 yrs ago.

   Auston Matthew's was the biggest indicator of the issues he should have been Traded when he didn't sign max contract! I don't give a shit who agrees but personal accolades are not Stanly Cups.
   Mich is a Homer, Willy is all in and so is JT. I only count 3 in the this core 4 tradagy and why 4 Morgan has also been all in.
   We are a Rudderless in Management period…..

    Doing nothing is part of the Shanaplan. His plan happens to be working because its been 10 years. Is he up for a raise. I can't see anything except some minor deals if that. Treliving had all Summer to think about it.

    I said the leafs should have traded Marner last summer when they had a chance. Now you can't unless he waives his nmc where he would pick his destination this limiting the return. You add a low end piece on defence for this year's run but you keep your picks and knies Robertson Cowan minten. You push the chips in the middle next year when Tavares and Marner contracts are up. I'd let JT walk unless he takes 3.5 million to be the third line center after his contract

    The core 4 are just fine the problem is so many wrong decisions over years for the bottoms 2 lines. We could have used a lot of these guys now, Lafferty, McMann, Sandin, Kadri, Brown, Hyman and Acciari plus not letting kids develop, Marchment, Durzi, Barabanov and Moore.

    Lol this guy sounds like a grumpy old man already there is a reason players and coaches tend to tune media and fans out at times this guy is the definition of that just a grouch never happy despite a 3 game winning streak and back to back wins against the top defensive team in the league depth scoring and physicality back with reavo and Sammy playing well the team playing well defensively too. Media is toxic at times this guy proves it.

    I’m fine with Marner just walking as a free agent.
    The logical move is to ask him to waive his no trade clause, and if he balks at that then I’m okay with letting him walk for free.
    He’s 11 million now, what is he gonna want, 12.5 Million? 13 million?
    Probably better off having the cap space
