This Canucks team has just left me SPEECHLESS…

The Vancouver Canucks comes back and beat the Columbus Blue Jackets 5-4 in OT. Brock Boeser with a hattrick and Elias Pettersson 2 goals, Quinn Hughes a few assists aswell, the boys are absolutely rolling as get closer to the NHL playoffs 2024.

  1. Most impressive was shots on net during that MAJOR penalty, the Canucks had MORE shots than CBJ team PP. !!

  2. I watched this game here in Calgary. Been a nucks fan since I was a little kid on Vancouver island in the early 80s. It’s very hard to come back from such a bad start in a game, but this team is equal to the very best teams that Vancouver has ever iced. They have the belief and the work ethic! It’s just so fun to watch!

  3. Johnny Gaudreau didn’t move to Columbus for money the Flames offered him more money he moved to Columbus to be closer to family. Not because he was money hungry

  4. Miller is definitely the love child that can do no wrong in Tocchets eyes, kinda feel for Kuzzy as his wiping boy? Other than the third period i didn't think Demko or Petey had a great game either.

  5. reality says they should not have this much trouble with bottom feeders twice to ot with these skids a great comeback but demko allowing 4 a game is not good

  6. I was actually there with my family we left at the end of the second when it was 4-1 (plus my brother was feeling sick) and at home we were just watching the canucks come back and I was just like why did we leave.😂

  7. So you think Miller should have been benched for an error leading to a goal? How about Pettersson's? Why does his giveaway that led to a goal get a pass from you? Everybody makes mistakes, but do the positives outweigh the mistakes? That's the question you need to ask. Miller leads all forwards on the team in +/- while Kuzmenko is the only forward on the team (including call ups) that is a minus. I get Kuzmenko is popular among fans, but he does have a tendency to float and isn't great on the defensive side of the game. I can understand Kuzmenko's benching and being scratched. All too often if he's not scoring, he's just not doing much. Can that be said of either Miller or Pettersson? Obviously not. Both Pettersson and Miller kill penalties and are trusted to be on the ice protecting a one goal lead in the dying minutes. Is Kuzmenko? Miller had 3 assists in the game and is top 5 in league scoring and Pettersson is top 10. Unlike Kuzmenko, they'd need to be having a seriously bad game to be benched. Here's a few other numbers among forwards regarding Kuzmenko, again including callups – dead last in hits per 60 minutes, 2nd last in blocked shots, and 4th from the bottom in takeaways per 60 minutes. Simply put, he needs to do more if he's not putting up big numbers.

  8. Nothing to worry about, I think the Nucks just got caught trying to cruise through their last game before the all star break against a bottom 5 team & then woke up

  9. @3.57 your analysis of the goalie cancelling out the "stack the pads" was hilarious. I think he was having one of those "what would Hasek do" moments but forgot how to accomplish it.

  10. you need to be able to win games like this from behind especially when ur in the playoffs. as for the myers hit is a just a joke of a call if anything was on 2 mins but for being tall sucks to be a taller player you feel like you cant make hits becasue ur elbow is just going to hit heads regardless. when i played growing u p i had the same problem i was about Chara's height playing in midget and would constantly get elbow calls even when my elbow was against my body its all i'd do is big hits just a joke of a call in its self glad the boys competed the comeback! cant wait to see what they can do in the playoffs this year

  11. Re: the Myers hit, it looks like he was just throwing his arms back to stop/catch himself like he would if he was going into the boards without anyone else there, just happened to be a face in the way unfortunately lol. Yes a penalty, definitely not 5 min tho

  12. When merzlikens does the stack the pads move watch his nlcoker, his sick got caught on his player and he didnt want to let go of his stick and got pulled over

  13. Also the Myers thing I'm pretty sure the ruling is if you draw blood its automatic major but dont quote me

  14. huge canucks fan, but the refs def played a part in the comeback. make no mistake about it. Also Petey has given the puck away for ANOTHER short handed goal against.

  15. Your not wrong at all about the Myers incident. I think that is bullshit. Really what I think is why don't they get retired players to become the refs. They know the game? Am I wrong? It would be more fair for everyone cause they know what to call. Right?

  16. I was ready to shut her down as well. Not being a betting man, I told my wife the betting odds of a comeback would be steep.

  17. I'm starting to worry about Demko. I watched a bit of the NYR's post-game show a few weeks ago and the commentator said they scouted Demko badly. He said that Demko can be beaten by shots at face-off dot distance. From watching the goals Demko's given up, I can't say the commentator is wrong.

  18. I will say, Columbus fans really fucking hate Provorov because he interfered with his own Goaltender on on goal and then gives a costly turnover to give the Canucks a win. I will take Myers anyday over Provorov

  19. I should of had more faith to I lost it and they proved me wrong once again. This years team if different.

  20. Stupid points. Kuzmenko is on pace for 40 points he's useless it's not just about a give away here or there. Imagine a player elbowed Petey in the head like that you'd be freaking out. 100% a major target the head cheapshot he's lucky he didn't get suspended.

  21. I think on the OT game winning goal, the CBJ goalie was trying to argue to the ref Patterson kicked the puck into the net. But the slo-mo makes it obvious it bounced off his skate blade, then he swiped it a little and it took a hope right between the pads.

  22. The biggest concern with the penalty blunder is the fact that the penalty itself given to myers thereafter was/is illegal. Refs can review and rescind a penalty on the penalty called, but are not allowed to review a penalty, rescind the penalty, and then give an ENTIRELY new penalty to a different player. I've heard this was decided by the refs and from the war room so not sure WHO made the call. Both plays deserved penalties but the way it was handed out is entirely wrong and should never have happened.

  23. When the Oilers and Canucks played in the 80s, the Oil would lollygag through the first 2 periods and be down 2 or 3 goals going into the 3rd. No panic. They'd score 4 in the 3rd and Gretzky would get 3. Later same year they'd win the Cup. No problem here folks. Even the best teams take the odd period off.

  24. I was there for this game! The crowd definitely made a difference. It was electric in there the other night to help fuel the comeback. I’m sure Rick gave them a good talking to in the second intermission.

We have a great hockey culture in Vancouver believe it or not. Most of the people who rioted were refugees and people here on visa! True Canadians are always a class act and as polite as it gets!

    Go Canucks go!

  25. Watching the game and at the end of the second, I told myself well I guess they must be checked out for the all star break already, down by 3.

But something told me to keep watching to see if the PP can get one to start the third and they did.

That five minute kill was so intense and entertaining. One of my favourite games of the year so far.

My top 3 games this season in No particular order:

    Game one vs edm
    The win vs the laffs
Last nights comeback vs the BJ’s

  26. Still disappointing a bit. I mean it's awesome they can come back. But this was against a team they should have no business being down 4-1 in the first place. Play sloppy like this against a strong playoff team and they're done.

  27. Yes I agree that we are playing exceptionally well this season and this has been the most impressed I've been of this team since the hay days of the Sedins. But I would be lying if I said I'm not concerned about the Petey Mikeyev Kuzy line because the latter two players have just not been any kind of help for Petey hence that line not really producing when it is on the ice. Before I would sticking to my guns when I insisted we need a defenceman(at least 1) more than a top 6 forward, but now I'm not so sure, I mean yeah sure if we put the lotto line back then we have a very formidable 1st line, but if we don't put the lotto line together then we clearly don't have enough threat on Petey's line because of how invisible Mikeyev and Kuzy has been lately. So yes I'm happy that the Canucks are winning even when we have off nights but we still manage to rack up points, but I'm also concerned and believe we need to get somebody go bolster our top 6.

  28. I was at the game with my dad and a couple of other family friends. One of them said at the 2nd intermission that the game is done. My dad and I both looked at each other (remembering St. Louis flashbacks) and I just said "just wait till they come out of the locker room after Tochett burns their asses for that period. That last period was SO ELECTRIC in the arena. They're the comeback 3rd period kings rn.

  29. Bro you’re fuckinf hilarious I just came across you, but hats off man as a canucks fan these videos are mint
