Why This Change Could Save This NHL Teams Season

The New York Islanders have officially fired Lane Lambert and have brought in legendary NHL Goalie Patrick Roy to coach the team halfway through the year. The last time Roy coached an NHL team was back in the 2015/16 season with the Colorado Avalanche so this will be his first head coaching job since leaving Colorado. Roy has been a successful coach in other leagues but can he translate that success to this Islanders team in a competitive Metro Division? Let’s break down this hire, why its a good and bad thing for the Islanders, and whether or not this will be enough to fix some of New York’s glaring roster issues. 1. Roy just got done coaching a team to a championship last season in the QMJHL. Stepped down from both Coach and GM position in June. I think he has been looking into getting back into the NHL and this hire made a lot of sense to me

  2. I'D TRY FUCKIN ANYTHING AT THIS POINT. Plus have you seen his practices? No whistle, just uses mouth and lips. Oh and slaps the stick a lot. Real old school – i hope it translates to some discipline to get these guys some wins.
