  1. Certainly a penalty, but it definitely wasn't intentional and I wouldn't call it "dirty". It's Alex Killorn, not like he's a player who is out there trying to play physical or hurt anybody. I have no issue with the major penalty call though.

  2. Bad hit in today's rules but he turned at the last second. This is even in slow motion.

They got to change the rule to where they can grab the player.

  3. It's pretty rare now a days to see someone intentionally try to hurt another player. Back in the day, it happened all the time. There's more information now about concussions (back then – bell rung) and things like cigarette smoking that require regulation. I see a suspension in the future.

  4. Paul Ranger is a bitch and shouldn't have turned his back to the hit.  Alex Killorn is a champion.

  5. im not sure if this was intentional, just poor judgment on his part. he wanted the hit no matter what. looks brutal to me, he'll have to sit a few games

  6. Next time he won't try that fake.  Sets the guy up and changes direction?  Maybe he wasn't asking to get destroyed but he set himself up.  Hope he's ok.

  7. I believe this is a disgusting hit as not only did Killorn NOT attempt to stop, there was distinct shoving motion on the numbers.

For those who say that Ranger turned his back to the hit – you are wrong – he was simply turning towards the puck which was wrapping around the boards. I read the play as if he was going to let the puck travel into his skates for a final seconds scrum on the boards.

Killorn and Ranger were BOTH ahead of the puck with no options other than to turn to the corner to gain possession, or let it travel along the boards until it met their skates. Killorn had perspective on this play and should have known the only way he was going to take the man would be on his numbers from behind.

ABSOLUTELY NO FORESIGHT HERE OR A MALICIOUS HIT.

  8. The whole way killorn only saw rangers back, yes he turned towards the puck but killorn should have let up a bit, there was no effort on his part to try and get the puck, and he should have noticed that ranger would have been in a vulnerable spot, i think he might get 3 games for it.

  9. NHL needs to figure out that you can't turn at the last second a year ago this wouldn't have been a penalty at all switch the rule back. That being said thought and prayers are with him I know how it feel I got my spine fractured cause someone hit me from behind except I didn't turn it was a waved off icing call so I was just goin to get the puck. Also you play hockey knowing you can and probably will get hurt so he knows the dangers of the game

  10. What's with players turning their backs these days? You got to the NHL and really don't know that player is coming?

  11. LOLLLL!!! wait are people actually blaming Ranger for turning???? did you guys watch the whole play?!?!?! before he even turned Killorn was looking at Rangers numbers…..give your head a shake….whether he turned or not, the hit was always gonna be from behind

  12. Watched that game live, and as a Leaf fan, Ranger over skated the puck (was looking at the time left in the period on the Jumbotron) – Unfortunately, he was going right and then tried to juke left, and so, the hit looked a lot more "boarding" rather than just a finishing check/pursuit. However, it wasn't intentional, and it wasn't as HARD as it could've been.
