McDavid led the team to victory over the Kraken? He played well all game but didnt have a point until the 4-2 goal at the end. Draisaitl carried the team last night with points on all 4 goals.
If Toronto could trade Mathews for Mcdavid. They would say yes without even thinking about it. Edmonton would say no without thinking about it.

I think it not only comes down to skills, but personality. In both areas, its McDavid by MILES, and it ain't even close. To me, Auston Mathews is as interested in being a celebrity as he is in being a pro hockey player. McDavid is doing what nobody else can do and remains humble.
McDavid isn't as good as Matthews…but the Oilers are garbage. So, McD is more valuable to them because of their ineptitude. Leafs win with or without Matthews.

Edmonton is playing great hockey. If they lose McDavid, they will not. Toronto is playing mediocre hockey. If they lose Matthews they will continue to be mediocre. Matthew’s is playing great hockey on his own. McDavid is leading his team. 23-6 in last 29 games. You can debate who is better if you wish, but who is most valuable to his team seems very clear.

McDavid is a more impactful player than Matthews. Every game you can feel McDavids presence through an entire game, definitely can’t say that about Auston. Hyman/McDavid/Nuge have a 75% goal share on the ice which is number one by 10%.
Matthews is really good, but McDavid is otherwordly. The comparison should be Matthews-Draisaitl. Sometimes Matthews is a little bit ahead, as he is right now, sometimes it`s Leon. But he will never be at a McDavid level!

Matthew’s can’t even run his own line without Nylander or Marner. McDavid makes players around him better. Draisaitl does the same thing. Draisaitl has a four point night with Foegal and McCloud. McDavid can miss three games and Edmonton would be fine. Matthews miss three games. Toronto would be fine. That being said. They are equal to their respective teams.

As a Oilers fan ,they are both gems!! But it seems like Mathews is carrying the whole team and when they win its because of him and when the lose its because he didn't do enough ,how about the rest of the team? Last night if it wasn't for Mathews they would have got beat by the Flames.
So NO offense Gino but I think that question has already been answered THIS SEASON. When Mcdavid was out hurt then playing hurt the Oilers were terrible but when Matthews is out the Leafs still somewhat succeed.
