Leafs would literally be a .500 team if the NHL didn’t give loser points for overtime losses and create stupid 3 point games. Those 8 overtime losses when combined, gives them 21 losses along with 21 wins. A very average team.

The Leafs should've traded Marner B4 his NTC kicked in. The return of a star goalie and/or a solid Dman or two and the freed up cap space would've put the Leafs into a MUCH better position to make deep playoff runs. But instead they signed him to a huge contract all but guaranteeing the circus you guys have been witness to. 👍👍
Actually, I think the leafs played somewhat better defensively. The waived off goal though, Brodie again gets beaten by someone (he is a problem I have been saying it for a long while). 1st goal definitely on jones even though McCabe standing in front of him doing nothing is not good. 2nd goal, Brodie almost got to the goal scorer. He was late but at least he went to the right place. 3rd goal at least some oilers were checked in front of the net. Only problem is no one was near to the puck carrier. Based on other games, this is an improvement but defenders aside, forwards are not helping enough.

Crazy how the Leafs fans are so surprised their team lost to the hottest team and the best playing team for the last 2 months the Oilers! When the Oilers are banging on all cylinders ,they are hard to beat!

If Sheldon Keefe gets fired, I can see Guy Boucher being his replacement. He's already been a front-runner for the leafs' head coaching job, having already been their choice back in 2015 before Mike Babcock swooped in at the last minute.
Oilers fan here. Great overview on a good game. I think a new voice would go a long way. Oilers were getting loosey-goosey with Woodcroft, and that was also the case last year a lot of the time, even when they went on a tear down the stretch. Knoblauch has them playing a tighter game, and obviously he's giving a different message, along with defense coach Paul Coffey. Looks like you guys could use the same. Sincerely hope you beat the Flames, so good luck!
The lack of leadership (looking at Tavares and Matthews) on the Leafs speaks volumes on these third period collapses.
A team that isn’t all in for defense in tight situations will sit on a lead and nurse it until it’s squandered.
