So there’s no doubt that Lyon needs to be goalie #1 for the remainder of the season, right? It would seem obvious to me, but Lalonde seems to love giving Husso / Reimer looks even when Lyon plays well…

It’s not about giving the other guys looks in spite of someone else playing well. It’s literally load management. There’s a reason goalies aren’t playing 70 games a season anymore.

We’re only almost half way through the season. If you’d shifted several Husso and Reimer starts to Lyon, who knows what results you get? Lyon may be fine, but Husso and Reimer’s numbers might look better too. We’re carrying 3 goalies, they have to play them to find out for sure what we have.
But I have been told many times that you can’t blame the goalies at all for any of these goals Reimer and Husso are letting in, it’s 100% the defense’s fault every time.

Welcome to the modern NHL, this isn’t a Red Wings specific thing. This is a league wide thing. How do you not know this by now? lol
Panthers only made the playoffs last year because he went on a run as the back up and took the regins from Bob. Obviously eventually they switched and Bob took them to the final but none of that happens without Lyon.
