Let’s go over a ludicrous idea that was brought up in a Bleacher Report article as to whether or not the Detroit Red Wings could trade prospect Axel Sandin Pellikka to the Anaheim Ducks for John Gibson.

Although solely a rumor, this definitely makes sense. Sure 3 goalies, but only 1 putting up solid stats. Reimer fell off a cliff and Husso is struggling massively. I don't agree with trading for Gibson rn, maybe earlier in the year, but it still makes sense

Why not get rid of wallinder instead of Pellikka,or is mazur and viro Really better than Edvinsson and kasper and pellikka,cause if they’re not better than they can probably be the best prospect trade candidates.and give Anaheim a first round pick than for Gibson if it would make them happy with that.

Hate to tell ya Detroit fans, but, if Anaheim takes on salary in this SUPPOSED trade, one of those 3 WOULD BE the goin' rate.
I could see a trade involving Kasper, but really only if it sends a bad contract with him. Even moreso if it makes room for Edvinsson.
Of the 3 prospects listed i think Kasper is the only one not "untouchable" and he's still pretty close.
Send Petry, Czarnik, two 2nds and a 5th to Anaheim. Done deal. But i guarantee ASP or Edvinsson would never be traded. There's a possibility Kasper gets traded but not just for Gibson, Anaheim would 100% have to throw in a sweetener like a second tier prospect or a first round pick. Something resembling Det gets: Gibson and a first round pick. Ana gets: Kasper, Albert Johansson and a 6th rounder.

I like the trade idea if Yzerman traded Husso and dumped Reimer to a desperate team at the same time. I don't like the term of his contract and the cap hit through 26-27. I would only be on board for Berggren, Husso and maybe a 2nd or 3rd round pick. No top tier prospects.

I doubt a prospect would be on the trade block for Gibson, Yzerman would give up Kasper, ASP, or Edvinsson, and salary retention might get them Berggren. Asking for the moon for a player whose sun is starting to set on his career is asinine.
No way we trade a prospect for Gibson. We have three serviceable goalies who have less that great numbers because we have a problem with puck control, passing accuracy, sloppy defensive play, allowing too many easy shots that are uncontested, and a coach who doesn't have a lockdown defensive system. How many games have we been up by 3 or more and let the opponent come back ?
Why would Gibson waive his clause this season just to go miss the playoffs anyway but in colder weather?
I haven't actually seen a single problem with any move with Yzterman at all (besides the seider pick but hes forgiven)…
