Well, it took the refs literally gifting the islanders goals and ignoring match majors to lose our streak so it is what it is

Man FUCK Anders Lee and fuck the refs. So I guess the Islanders are low key dirty? Or maybe it’s not that low key and I just haven’t paid much attention to them this season. In any case, fuck them. They spent the entire night gooning it up, culminating with a knee on knee that took Gavvy out and went uncalled. I’m just glad he came back eventually. The streak was going to end eventually, I just wish we could have closed it out against these fucking assholes.
Fuck the refs, fuck Anders Lee. Hope the Islanders enjoy being a permanent bubble team, irrelevant franchise.
Disappointing loss and end of a record-setting run, they needed to show stronger composure in the final 10 minutes.
Standing ovation for this whole team. Shitty way to end a historic winning streak, but an epic accomplishment, nonetheless.

I was only able to catch OT (just got out of seeing The Boy and the Heron) but it sounds like it was a frustrating game. Oh well, at least we can bounce right back tomorrow.
Also, Ohtani is a Dodger!! So that’s something to celebrate.

Anders Lee skyrocketing on the list of players I hate in the NHL
Well, time to start the next winning streak tomorrow.
Unbelievable collapse. No response against Lee. Streak ends. Gavy probably not going to be 100%.
Tonight fucking suuuuucked.
Pretty frustrated at how atrociously the team played in the 3rd. That’s just unacceptable levels of sloppiness for a playoff contender.
Yeah, we got fucked by the refs, but come on. This team should be able to protect a two goal lead. Frankly, this team has to score more than two goals against a team like the Islanders. Our defense and goaltending isn’t supposed to be in charge of stopping everything, the offense needs to outscore our other issues.
Kempe was beyond selfish in that OT and it cost us the game. That’s very frustrating. You don’t play run and gun hockey in 3 on 3. You prioritize possession and set something up. Kempe was so desperate to be the hero that he cost us the game, that is very hard to swallow.
Sucks that the streak ends like that. Now we have to play the best team in hockey on a back to back with Copley in net. Really needed two points tonight. Good luck tomorrow, because on paper it looks real bad for us.
Well I’d trade the streak snapping for Gavrikov’s health. But man what a dirty player Anders Lee is, not a single penalty out of his shit?
Idk what happened toward rhe end of the 3rd but Islanders were beyond in control. Is what it is but I bet ESPN will have an article up about this

Super frustrating way to see the streak end due to the bullshit during the game, but an OT loss against the other conference isn’t the worst result in the world. New winning streak can start as soon as tomorrow.

Tough loss. Once the dam broke I think they pretty much packed it in. Tougher game tomorrow so maybe conserving their energy isn’t so bad considering they got the loser point still.

I am really confused at Kempe’s play in OT. That decision made no sense. They had easy possession of the puck and he fired it at an Islanders’ stick and gave them a breakaway. Obviously it’s a somewhat unlucky bounce but why would he even do that??
I don’t blame the guys at all we had control of this game until the refs took control of the game and turned the game around. Sure the goals were a bit cheap and Kempe never should have taken that shot in OT. But if the refs did their job today we would have won 2-0
Rare to see this team give up a lead in the 3rd. Extra disappointing given the guy who tied the game was throwing knees and slewfoots prior the goals. Just happy that Gav seems to be okay and a point came of this game. That’s usually a win. Isles are solid, too. Credit to them. GKG.

It’s always disappointing to lose a game (especially with our streak). This wasn’t disappointing though, it was infuriating.
We played better tonight than our typical 4 goal games. The chances were stacked in our favor. Fox said it best though, the goal was scored by the guy who shouldn’t have even been on the ice. We almost took multiple season ending injuries and we got the penalties for it. If complaining about the refs makes a sore loser, I guess I am a sore loser on this one.
Lee is on my list, just behind Kane.
On a positive note, we played great and didn’t lose two of our players.

I really wanted to keep liking the Islanders… but after tonight, I hope they never win anything of significance again and that before they get on the bus to leave, the Kings take a collective shit big enough to fuck up UBS’ toilets that floods the entire arena..maybe all of Long Island too. Honestly it’s kind of a relief finally losing on the road. Now no more talk of streaks and we can just focus on the task at hand. All in all we’ve earned 5 out of a possible 6 on this road trip and we’re 11-0-1 on the road. That’s fucking incredible. Our record is 16-4-4. That’s also incredible. I hope we absolutely shit on the islanders on March 11. Fuck those guys. On to the Rangers tomorrow. Let’s hope it’s not a Quickie revenge game.
Am I crazy or was Doughty’s hit on Clutterbuck (after the whistle where Lewis looked like he got murked) like not a big deal at all? Like obviously was late and definitely a penalty but kind of not much otherwise?
Isles fans are out here all pissed off about what Drew did and I’m out here not really thinking much of it. I can’t find a clip of it and can’t help but think that they’re out here reaching deep to find ways to minimize the shit Lee et al. pulled tonight.

Honestly I have loved this team for more than 20 years but that effort in the 3rd period was embarassing. From a hockey player standpoint both teams looked like they didn’t give a shit but one team gave a shit more. On to the next one I guess
