Why the Minnesota Wild are so bad right now.

So the Minnesota Wild are having a pretty bad start to the season so far and I have a couple reasons as to why I think they’re so bad right now.

  1. Yeah IMO Dean has lost the locker room and he refuses to change (or the players refuse to change for him). It is frustrating seeing a team LOADED with talent play like a peewee team. Something HAS to change.

  2. The contract change was few months before because the NHL went into a lock out following the signing the of the contract

  3. Gotta feel bad knowing that keeping both would of probably been better or just buying one out.

Suter was far from washed when he got bought out, he got immediately signed under a good contract by Dallas … which indicates to me that he could of been traded with retention instead.

The logic of keeping both is also rather simple do you wanna burn 14.8 mil per year or do you wanna pay barely more and have two vets playing instead.

Teams can be contenders while overpaying their vets, they cant if they burn 1/5 or 1/6 of their budget.

  4. I do agree with you that it’s sucks to have that much money against the cap. But Chuck Fletcher signing those contracts for that many years that was unbelievably ridiculous and I even said at the time I said man this is going to hurt this for franchise I just can’t see how those two players being worth that. I thought Bill Guerin did the right thing. It’s always a risk when you have to buy players out and have a lot of dead money against the cap. It’s always a risk, however this roster is more than good enough to be able to be successful even with that amount of money, not being used for other good players potentially. That money against the cap doesn’t have any bearing on how the players perform. I just think maybe they just tired of Dean Evason. Maybe they overachieved a little bit last year but they’re definitely underachieving this year. It’s still early and they can get things turned around. I just don’t know if firing Dean Evenson unless the players got tired of him is the right answer.

  5. I was just about to Google about the recent history of the Wild today. Then I open up to see Larry made a video. Thanks Larry.

  6. As a Wings Nut…. You Wild fans definitely need a rebuild. It’s no shame. Good luck.

PS… I just saw that Santa bought me a Wild sweatshirt for Christmas 😊

  7. Patience my friend… once that penalty cap space is gone, the Wild will be cooking with oil. Hope you guys get a couple of top picks in the meantime.

  8. Just discovered your YouTube channel, I remember you from the Diamonds days, before it was torn down and then I moved to southeastern WI. I’ll be listening, keep up the good work.
