The Leafs were lucky to salvage a point for this game. Thatās although they had needed to score withi. the first five minutes of the game to give themselves a chance to win, and thatās what I see a need for them to do if they are going to win these games. A lot more couldāve gone wrong before Matthews was the score 12:06 into the second period.
The above said, as much as the Leafs got a point in their weekend game against a playoff-calibre team, the same, couldnāt be sad for the Canucks, in their most recent game against a similar team (late last week): the Golden Knights. Not until the third period did ANY Canucksā player score, and that had been after the Golden Knights had gone up 4-0 16 seconds into that period. Final score was 4-1 Knights, Kuzmenko having scored the only goal for the Canucks.
I was looking over player stats before the game and said aloud āDomi is due.ā Damn right.
Can we please stop all this Nylander hype. If MLSE is serious about deep playoff runs and even having a chance to hoist a cup. He has to go. Only guy with any movement clause, to better this team.
But knowing that MLSE is run by marketing and revrnue hungry idiots. They will give Nylander exactly what he wants term and money wise along with a full no move. Further decimating this team to further playoff mediocrity.
Enjoy the first round exits fellow fans, its not going to get any better, as long as they are committed to the core 4.
