D.J. Chark had 500 yards over 11 games last year, not a full season. In 2019 with the Jaguars, he played 15 games and caught 73 for 1,000 yards. Chark has a 4.34 40 and he's long with a decent vertical for jump balls.
I like Chark over Hardman myself. Chark has better numbers as a receiver. Chark could be traded for a 6th or 7th rounder I think (hes in a 1 year contract with the 0-6 Panthers) while Hardman might cost us more in trade. I think Chark would cost us more in salary than Hardman, but the offset is Chark knows our players and coaches and vice versa, enabling Chark to contribute right away for half a season under his current 1 year contract.
Perhaps Hardman has more versatility because he's a punt/kickoff returner as well? Plus, we don't really know if Chark left on good terms with Detroit last year. I assume so, but I'm not 100% sure.
Need another pass rusher more IMHO. Jameson back and Reynolds is stepping up nicely.
We are good we need another rb
It would be nice for Jared to have a big fast target like Courtland Sutton to bomb it to occasionally.
I'd rather bring Denzel Mims back then pick up Mecole Hardman. Yuck.
ARSB (the #1) + Josh Reynolds (unsung hero) + Sutton (talented vet/pro) + JAMO (big play specialist) + LaPorta (gifted/reliable) + Montgomery + Gibbs + J. Reynolds = Sweet
What a coincidence, I was thinking about Mecole to the Lions randomly last night. But I figured they’d never do it since he doesn’t really add anything they don’t already have. I’d honestly rather see them bring back Cota if he’s healthy. A big WR is the one thing they’re lacking at the position. Weren’t they gonna pay him anyway?
Montez Sweat Max Crosby Matthew Judon or Marshon Lattimore please.
Josh definitely #2. WR. This team is loaded.
Evans dropped some balls too Sunday
I 100% believe we do not need wide receivers at all
I've also been giving Hooker some thought mainly due to Goff's success this year. I believe we have Goff under contract through 24' after which, he'll be expensive. Certainly Hooker is trade bait assuming that Detroit has plans to keep Goff past 24', but can the Lions afford him past 24', that is the burning question. If Detroit stay's #1 in the minds of some, it gets harder. We've already got guys like Steven A on the bandwagon with Detroit at #1! With Hooker around, I think it helps Goff contract negotiations for the Lions. Goff's agent can't be left to believe that "Detroit has no one else, they're desperate". Plus, one never knows, maybe Hooker has the goods and we don't know it yet.
As for Detroit's D line, I think we are strong on edge. Houston should be back in December, we should be able to go with what we got? There aren't a lot of DT's out there to trade for either, unless I'm missing something. Like you say, we've got Martin if we need him and we've played Cominsky inside as well. Cominski is on the roster at edge, but he's 284 with no fat on him. We could go with the edge rushers and the entire team we've got, for what it's worth.
I think we are light 1 WR in 4 receiver sets… I think the RB situation will solve itself in time… DB's are a bit light but if CJGJ comes back just before the playoffs, we could be good there too… maybe could use another good corner. If there's room to improve our starters, it's CB, maybe edge and I think WR? I keep coming back to Chark on that one. Can't say much at RB, not sure what we have at depth in RB but it's a high contact injury prone position so who knows.
I would take Chark back
J Jeudy all the way
We’re loving them jet’s players right now 😂
Either this is smoke and mirrors or they’re seriously considering trading Jamo to the panthers for b. Burns. A late rounder to the jets gets you another speed guy with experience to replace him, while you add to your defense. What do I know though? Lol Just a theory.. I personally like Jamo though..
Reynolds, JAMO, Brown, MJJ, Williams and the TEs…. WR room is Kool.
CB is more of a need for depth going into playoffs.
This the same dude that turned us down and went to another team
A rumor is nothing more than that.. a rumor
If I HAD to take one then I’d take Jeudy just because I feel like he has more upside. He’s only ever been on this Broncos dumpster fire let’s see what he can do.
Well said! Only trade for upgrade
Don’t know him D.
Welp
