   Jack Johnson was 6'1" and tommy burns at that time the shortest heavyweight champion at 5'7". Johnson had a great height and reach advantage so it was wise at that time by the police to stop the fight. but Tommy burns was the shortest heavyweight champion after Rocky Marciano and Mike Tyson. So we should give credit to burns too
