>* wanted to go to the 2016 finals, bought tickets to game 3. Mom is crazy and loaded so upgraded my seats to front row behind the bench! Amazing! Turns out it was the penguins bench and the coaches blocked a bunch of the game and we were surrounded by jeering penguins fans whom the team kept tossing them stuff. Still had fun though!

-Grew up in SJ and moved to WA state. Met my wife up here who grew up in Sacramento and was a Sharks fan.
-I’ve enjoyed being able to watch SJ play now that Seattle has a team but everytime they are up here we are out of town.
Jumbo inspired me to grow a beard for the playoffs back in 2016, unfortunately my father passed away during that playoff run but the last words he spoke to me before he died from a sudden heart attack were “I love the beard.” I still haven’t shaved it off and it’s nearly down to my waist, but thanks to Thornton every day I look in the mirror and have a reminder of my father. I almost cried when Jumbo left the Sharks, he is and always will be my favorite Sharks player for giving me this memory of my father I think about daily.
I grew up in the Bay Area but currently live in Tacoma, WA. People think I’m born and raised in the PNW because of my beard, again, thanks to Jumbo.
I will throw my hat in the ring as well! My family and I are massive sharks fans hailing from Humboldt County CA. We began watching together since TV broadcast and internet allowed us to participate, largely coinciding with the Thornton trade. We’ve had an annual family trip down to San Jose for ~10 years leading up to the pandemic and my eventual move to Seattle.
My brother is a massive fan and has had several Thornton jerseys, my intent would be to gift this to him. We got to travel following the team through New York in 2018 and fulfill some lifelong dreams of seeing the team out of state. I’m still looking for an opportunity for him to get his jersey signed by Jumbo.
This would be a wonderful hallmark of the era we got to unite around fandom with the team as we look to the future of the franchise and our new youth movement. Happy to pickup anywhere here in the area as needed!
