Love those rule changes around penalties. The NHL has done many rule changes that have screwed up stats that could be comparable over the years, so they shouldn't shy away from making these changes. 84 game season, 2-line passes, and 3-point games are all examples. I mean heck you couldn't pass forward in the NHL for many years back in the day. Great show boys, the vibes are immaculate! Cheers
I'm very curious to see what Andlauer does, or doesn't do…I would have no issue whatsoever if he let PD, DJS, and the entire coaching staff go. How can the fanbase argue? Look at their record the last 5 years. Great show!!! Great Sens Central Fan Matthew, too!!!
Sid was always a fan of the new IIHF rules and was what he suggested when the net sizes were discussed. That EDM powerplay tho… Jeez could that be lethal to stay out all 2 min
I would love the "A minor penalty will be served even if a goal is scored while a delayed penalty is pending" be brought in NHL now.
Like, it's not a man advantage goal even if you pull your goalie for an extra attacker on the delayed whistle. You can always pull your goalie… The pending penalty doesn't allow that ability, you just do it since the opposition can't shoot.
ps. What if there is a penalty in the final minute of a 1 goal game where the goalie is already pulled?

Not sure if i like the first two rules but the shorthanded goal ending a powerplay is awesome
Why or how did Hamilton not be able to support their organization? How or Why did Hamilton, including a previous Senator, not be able to draw enough fan attendance to support their Bulldogs? is this the direction Sens should be looking in, especially if the organization up and moves to a city with a Junior A team in it?
Why am I wanting to watch a game where there's unlimited scoring, considering Sens defense is already piss-poor to begin with, especially with banged up defensive players? To a team that has already tied for 1st with the most penalties in the box/60 min.

I Don't love rules messing with powerplays. Personally i don't love powerplays, so making them more potent doesn't appeal to me. I agree they would potentially hugely inflate offense in a way that i don't appreciate.
One rule i would strongly recommend is making the bench rotate each period so that the long change is all game long. I think offense would be increased but in a more subtle way by making changes a little more difficult.
It makes sense that scoring a goal on a delayed penalty cancels the penalty because 6 on 5 is a PP. With PP goals no longer cancelling the penalty, now multiple goals can be scored on a minor penalty, so it only makes sense to change the other rule that prevents more than 1 goal being scored on a PP.

I don't like those rules for the NHL. A fantom hook or puck over the glass could lead to 2 against? Count me out.
The delayed penalty rule change is legit. The team pulled their goalie and technically never had an extra player on the ice
Our depth at LHD is soon to be embarrassment of riches. If not this season, certainly by next season Sanderson will pass Chabot as our #1. The knock on Brannstrom was always consistency but he seems to be putting it together, and if Tyler Kleven's 8 NHL games weren't beginners luck he is absolutely coming for that 2nd pairing spot in a season or two. So the real, and slightly insane question becomes: How long do you keep Chabot? I mean once Sanderson is top dog and you have a guy like Kleven ready to play that 2nd pairing minutes…is Chabot not expendable? We're not there yet, but keep in mind Chabot's MNTC kicks in at the start of 24-25 and his actual salary jumps from $8M to $10M. That's a lot of money for a 2nd pairing guy…
Biggest rule change I wanna see is fix offside goal reviews.
It's filthy how much this was used and abused last season. Especially when a goal is called back after a long forecheck during PP time (sens got bit by this more than once).
Not sure what the solution is – any thoughts?
