The Colorado Avalanche have been pretty active before, during and after the draft. But their work is not done just yet. The two big spots still left to fill are a 4th line forward, and who will be tagged to play on the 3rd defensive paring? We discuss.
We also take some listener questions that tackle if we feel this team is better than last year, what our confidence level is at, and which player will the that “Swiss army knife” type of forward now that Evan Rodrigues and JT Compher have moved on?

Still bummed…they got rid of J.T. no Gabe , however lets blame others… ….uggg.
I would like to see Thomas Tatar on the 4th line
I know he is a natural LW but maybe move Cogs to right side .. need more depth anyways tbh
Any chance Drouin and Mackinnon play together on line 1?
Stay healthy .. and be healthy in the playoffs
As for the lineup questions. After getting the Colton contract figured out, my guess is another D will be their first priority. The extra forward spot is more of an option. Keep in mind that they have also been active on the waiver wire early in the last few seasons and picking up players that they think fit their style and culture. There are also really big advantages during the season to having a mil or two of available cap space. That will not only give them more flexibility in call ups and roster decisions on a day to day basis and injury replacements, it will also accrue extra daily cap space that they can then weaponize at the deadline if they need to for the playoff push.
