Blackwood is an interesting new face for the Sharks and Mike Grier's plan to change the team from perennial losers into Stanley Cup contenders. This is a reclamation project or a second chance to make it to the top goalie spot, and maybe Grier has too much faith in miracles turn arounds for struggling players. But we should all wait and see how this goalie plays on a team with weaker defence than New Jersey Devils, and if he gets back his championship form and confidence. It is good to see how he already has friends or knows players on the team, and this portends well for future development into a number one goalie. I don't have much faith in hockey miracles but it is a gamble which will probably be entertaining and David Quinn will be sure to make him work for his ice time.
