Eh, at the time, Pasta would’ve been a reach. Hindsight says yes but the consensus favourites would’ve been Ehlers or Nylander.

These retrospective draft posts always bother me because picking some player who would become better doesn’t always result in the best outcomes.

That was one of the first drafts I paid attention to. Without knowing much about prospects back then, I do remember a lot of you saying we should have picked Nylander or Ehlers. Time has proven those choices correct.

I think Pasta worked from circumstances Boston was able to grow his talent with the talent they had/have we didn’t until Petey and Huggy was drafted

With perfect hindsight? Trade down for multiple picks. Take guys like Fiala, Pastrnak (available at 24), Montour, and Point!

Nice hindsight meme. Pasta went 25th. Nylander or Ehlers would have been better for the meme. Less hindsighty and realistic with who people may have realistically wanted at the time. Although we did take McCann one pick before Pasta.
