  1. This Is NOT Good News For Winnipeg… What Are YOUR Thoughts On the State of the Jets Franchise? And What Would YOU Do If YOU Were the NHL? Would You Relocate Them? I'd LOVE to Hear YOUR Thoughts!! #GravGang #RoadTo70kSUBS

  2. Hmmm….I'm not too concerned with the JETS just yet, but it would be in the best interest for the fans to invest in season tickets. Winnipeg, like my Hartford, will always have the disadvantage of being smaller markets overshadowed by bigger ones and can be used against them at the drop of the hat. Rooting for you, Winnipeg.

  3. People!!!!! People People….

What yall don't realize is beacuse of the "Manitoba government" the Province is like a year behind everyone else covid wise… chill out everyone and I guarantee they will be back next year amd the year after. It's just a small speed bump beacuse of Covid

  4. Canada Life Centre was made for the Moose where of course the Moose are an AHL team. The Jets have to use that because there wasn’t any good place to put a stadium so the Jets aren’t going somewhere else for at least 5 more years

  5. Respectfully totally disagree. Jets are a smaller market team, but like you said people are feeling the pain of the pandemic and with less people in the market that mean less people that can take those tickets when people decide to no long buy them. the whiteout this year for playoff will also rejuvenate the fan base after years without that excitement of live playoff hockey in winnipeg. That being said the jets have one of the richest owners connected with them partnered with true north sports supporting the team, David Thomson. As for the arena they have put alot of work into it improving it but just isnt much room to do that. they have really committed to the jets though with the true north square located across the street and stuff like that. one thing also you should take into account is ticket price, winnipeg ticket price is very high in comparison to other markets so it is a bit deceiving. Winnipeg jets season ticket packages when they came back to winnipeg sold out in record times and you had to sign up for a 5 year term after the five year term there was a small amount of turn over but mostly all season tickets and very little single game tickets were available then having to lock into i think it was 3 or 5 year term again on season tickets. those terms came up during the pandemic with people stuggling for money many let their season tickets go and going throw a pandemic and money being tighter doesnt lead to more people wanting to spend that money to buy into the new openings created in the season ticket market. Plus discounting the coyotes is just not ok to do because the NHL has done all these things to keep the team in arizona and continue to support team and not move it despite everything. think you make good content but think your take here is bad. just because the winnipeg jets have a smaller market and not filling the capacity every night does not mean this team is embarrassing. I would like to personally invite you to a jets game here in winnipeg so you can experience this fan base first hand. it is not all about numbers and sure money is important but this team is more than money for the people of winnipeg. No hate just wanted to say my peace about the jets.

  6. I think the Jets will stay in Winnipeg and build their new 19,500-seat hockey-specific venue adjacent to IG Field on the site where Max Bell Centre currently sits.

  7. It would be sad to see them have to move, but they need a new arena now,if they don't have a plan in place for a new one, the city doesn't deserve a team, but to talk about Winnipeg moving before Arizona is a joke,. Quebec is a good relocation for Arizona, but Betman and other American owners will never allow it.

  8. I don;t know where you get your information from but no where in the Google world does it indicate that the Winnipeg Jets are moving out of Canada!

  9. Let's be honest – Winnipeg is a reach in terms of professional sports. With a population around 800k and no other cities nearby, it really is the smallest market by a long shot. Winnipeg is small, and we think small. When the MTS centre was built, I wondered, why would they build another arena with only 15,000 seats (I say another, because the previous Winnipeg arena had the same number of seats). Add to that, the seats in there are darned small. We'll see what happens, but when you got a city like Houston (10 million) that's within a few hours of a dozen cities with 100k or more, you kind of can see how this might go.

  10. Hey I'm a winnipeger but not a jets fan but as a Huge oilers fan, I been to 2 jets games this year and the oilers vs jets in March this year and they all been great and fan games to say but I think the only thing that's not getting fans to come to games is there is where Canada life centre is located in the part of the city, in the heart of downtown Winnipeg because theres alot of crime, homeless people, traffic before and after games, and it can be hard to find parking, even though its a small arena its still great arena but the arena was originally built to replace the old Winnipeg arena and the arena was poorly located in a small area to replace a old cafeteria or restaurant i guess and they also build it small to have the old AHL/ IHL Manitoba Moore play in there and hope one day get a NHL team back but with out the jets I won't even see the oilers play close to home but I don't think the jets are going anywhere.

  11. As an American here are 5 U.S. franchises I'd consider moving before the Jets.

    Coyotes
    Panthers
    Blue Jackets
    Sabres
    Sharks

I'm not saying that any of those teams should move, even the Coyotes have hardcore fans, but they all make more sense than the Jets. Hockey just isn't as popular in the states.

  12. Winnipeg having a very hard time and is to small of a market and hopefully this ends all the Canadians who think Quebec should get a team as a even smaller market

  13. The jets have the richest ownership group in the NHL worth 60 billion dollars and both men love Manitoba so no they are not leaving. If you actually watched the video true north released they are trying to drum up ticket sales for next year.

  14. Winnipegger here
Sadly we are stuck at Canada Life Centre for a while. There is plenty of room by IG field for a new arena there but with how crappy our roads are and how bad homelessness is in some parts, there will be public outcry if we spend millions on a new arena. Also if there is any hope on making downtown a liveable place, or as much as it was in the 80’s-90’s, we would have to keep the Jets there, and will how much money we have spent or places like True North square which was finished last year, there is no chance we move arenas any time soon sadly

  15. I don’t think Winnipeg realizes how bad this is….

Houston could have people in the 17k-20k and make every single team’s travel schedule in the central way way way the fuck easier

  16. My belief is that every time a NHL team moves, Bettman takes it as a slap in the face to himself and to the NHL as a whole. So in the big picture, Bettman will resist all solutions that involve a move.

  17. Ticket sales have absolutely nothing to do whether or not a team stays or moves in the NHL or any other professional sport. If that was true, the Coyotes would have moved a long time ago. It's all about the adds on television and on line. This is how the NHL and the teams make the majority of their revenue.

  18. The Province of Manitoba and the City of Winnipeg need to step up and get some corporate growth, by offering 0% taxes. Creates new jobs and thus, more tax revenue…
and a new stadium that seats at least 18,000 wouldn't hurt…
or they'll be calling Quebec City home.

  19. Fingers crossed they do not move. As a longtime Canucks fan I have always appreciated the battle with the Jets. Much more than Arizona.

  20. Well that's depressing. But nothing I can do except enjoy it while it lasts. Tickets cost enough that I only go to 2 or 3 games a season. If we had Florida panthers pricing I would go a lot more often

  21. hey i’d take canada life centre over the crumbledome because i don’t want the room to collapse mid game

  22. Arizona is getting moved, a joke franchise assembled by tape. The NHL is a joke because of teams like them. A university rink as its main arena. No wonder nobody gives a crap about the NHL

  23. If the NHL let them move I can guarantee Canada will call for Betman's head, that will never be forgiven. Attendance is probably down across the league, inflation has been squeezing people like crazy.

  24. It is an "arena", not a "stadium". Why should I pay attention to someone who doesn't know that?
