  1. Are you kidding me.
3 goals playing first line minutes.
    Only edler is behind him.
Has maybe one above average shift a game.
Can't win puck battles, weak passer and even weaker shot.
Iafallo should be given the opportunity to play on that line.
    Maybe try turcott out.
Kupari is totally out playing Byfield with 4th line minutes.
    Sorry I wish T
that he was a better player at this point.
I watch most every king game and I keep watching and hoping he will justify why blake used the second pick on him.

  2. byfield gets pucks and give other players lanes for easy goals he will get stronger and get better at scoring just a matter of time. oh and he is a great defender

  3. yo remember when I said 3 weeks ago he was the best player from that draft over stuzle and that one guy argued with me, look who was right all along baby lol

  4. Byfield is playing with Kopitar who is a great player to learn from. Byfield is going to have a Vilardi year next year for sure

  5. Byfield is only going to get better, and once he starts shooting, hes gonna be a menace.

  6. So many people just dismiss him because the points and comparisons since that's the new be all end all for prospects according to a lot of fans nowadays. From watching his game he's starting to translate and build that strong puck movement and control that we saw with Sudbury. His board play and loose puck play has been really really strong because he's gotten a lot better at reading where the play is going and when fighting for control he's much more surgical and aggressive to where he's been utilizing his speed to dart around and long reach to get involved in the play before the goes the opposite way keeping great sustain pressure. He's been opening up the play for himself and his linemates to create smoother plays and efficient passes rather than last year where he was waiting for the play to come to him in many situations where he needed to get involved early to pressure the opponent. That first line of Kopitar and Kempe has been much better off now because I feel the problem earlier when we still were playing Fiala on that line was that Fiala thrives off of picking up loose change, the stretch passes, and getting the play on net with quick bursts of puck handling before the opponent has time to react and Kempe plays a similar kind of role leaving Kopitar to be the one to try and create those situations off the battles and get a play going which I don't think he has the quickness to really pull off consistently which kinda killed a lot of sustained pressure plays. Byfields now taken that role and starting to make it his own because with his reach and footwork he has the ability to keep sustain pressure giving Kopitar the time to get in the rights positions or have more time to map out a play or space to find Kempe in coming down the slot. His finish is mainly what he needs work on and individual drives I feel he's bit a snakebitten in that department then his frame and size I feel still has a high ceiling that will be reached in time. But with what he's doing right now it's allowing the first line to be REAL dangerous which will only get better if he keeps this consistency.

  7. Byfield has been good since training camp. But he got really sick and lost like 10 pounds and had to go to the AHL for a little while to catch his body up. But once he came back he was good and now that he’s playing with elite players he’s been amazing. Noticing as well he’s a big body and finishes his checks and sticks up for kopi and kempe every game so I love this kid!!

  8. Last year Byfield would make these unbelievable feeds to teammates who couldn't believe the puck could get to them that way, and they were unable to react quickly enough to take advantage. This year he's got linemates who have the skill to bury those gift pucks in the net, and it's so fun to watch!

  9. He's a special player, that's incredibly clear to anyone who watches him play. He's been a great fit with Kopitar and Kempe and has really helped solidify that line in many ways that don't show up on the scoresheet. The points are starting to come and that's great – I imagine the goals will start to come too – But just in general, he's playing some great hockey and getting comfortable at the NHL level which is most important. Think the plan is to move him back to C in the offseason – That'll be an adjustment but with the amount of talent he has, he'll be just fine. Can't wait to watch this guy play for the Kings for (hopefully) many many years.

  10. The Only people who hate on Byfield are Sens fans coping for the fact that Stutzle will only be better than him for 4 more years max… and boomers with a tad of underlying racism
