Ovechkin ties 30-goal season record!

Alex Ovechkin scores his 30th goal of the season for the 17th time, tying Mike Gartner for the most in NHL history. This marks his 400th career goal scored at home. He joins Wayne Gretzky (492), Gordie Howe (449), Jaromir Jagr (411), and Mike Gartner (401) as the only players in NHL history to score 400 home goals.

  1. He will set record for most 50 goal seasons this year and most 30 goal seasons next year. Being tied isn’t Ovechkin’s thing. He wants Bossy and Gretzky breathing his fumes.

  2. I just started watching hockey again after like 20 years…is he like the LeBron of the the nhl? I know he has a lot of goals.

  3. Ovechkin looks so much better in that jersey/uniform, and he seems to play better in it as well. Scores just about every time the Caps wear it. I knew he would score at least one tonight.

  4. Good for Alex! Caps announcers need to be canned. They couldn’t work in Penguins or Philly as announcers as they cheer the other teams on. Just sad.

  5. Dude's been playing 18 seasons. 17 of them has had 30 or more goals. That is absolutely insanity that this has happened in the 2000's
