This is what happens when the top Africans stay home lol. As for Cheserek…he's a fantastic runner who, as a pro, is just missing that little something to get a win. Rupp did about what could be expected just a few weeks after a hard marathon.
Switch the shoes for the top three and… the results would be exactly the same.

And I've never warmed to Galen Rupp. He's always seemed aloof. Maybe he's an introvert is all.
I won't even get into his association with Nike and Salazar; I just never much liked him.
Coming back after his Achelies tendon surgery is amazing, regardless of whether I like him or not… Having a surgeon reconstruct your calf/tendon and reattach it to your heel bone is major stuff. Pretty much the "Tommy John" surgery of running. 🤔🤨
