Ive said this for years now… it’s hard to grade Ben Cherington on the job he’s doing when his boss (Nutting) makes him do his job with both hands tied behind his back. That’s not to say he hasn’t made mistakes, but all GMs of every team in all sports do. You’re not going to be 100% in the draft or free agency. Look at what he was able to do this year with the offense when he was able to spend 10%-20% more on payroll. I’m not saying he’s done an amazing job. I am saying that he doesn’t deserve most of the criticism he has gotten so far. In all honesty I don’t think he has done a terrible job with the hand he was dealt. 9:39
