4. I guess that Aldon Smith had a drug problem. I’m not writing anything new. But I thought immediately about Andy Gibb. I think Andy died before 30 as his heart basically just gave out. Supposedly certain drugs weaken your heart and then it’s only a matter of time. But because of Aldon’s age, if I were a doctor — I’m not — I’d start looking there. It’s a pretty likely scenario. But even if he had CTE I’ll bet they’ll only consider that a contributing factor. Of course the family wants him to be viewed in the most positive light which I understand. (Of course I’m speculating and there are all kinds of reasons why people die. I know a guy who did basically zero drugs, didn’t drink, didn’t smoke, exercised a lot, and had three heart attacks by the time he hit 50. High cholesterol can do it too.)

5. There are two words that a family never wants to hear: “At autopsy. . . .”

7. Hate that they lost him but trying to find a reason.
