  1. DMac is a big man…….on and off the ice. A true gentle giant. I've change a lot too after hanging up the skates but I'll never apologize for wanting to win more than wanting to be liked.

  2. Amazing how wrong you can be about someone….i always thought (as a Sabres fan) McCarty was a jerk! This interview and his poignant goodbye to Lemieux proves me wrong. I would love to have a friend like him. God Bless you both…25 and 22.

  3. It’s such a joke that a soft as they come. Player like John Tavares who compiles meaningless points in meaningless games is probably going to be in HOF and Claude Lemieux isn’t . It’s not even a question who you would want in your lineup for a Stanley cup game 7

  4. People give Claude bad rap it wasn’t like he skated from across the ice to slam Draper into the boards. It was a quick bang bang play

  5. Claude Lemieux….. old school NHL veteran. RIP. As a fan, I disliked Claude as a player too but when he wore the Canadian jersey… different story.
McCarty is a solid dude…. I really liked how he looked straight at the camera at 2:56. His words were genuine and meaningful for others out there.

  6. Very sad for many for sure but not near as much as the son that found his dad like that. If the report is correct. I can't imagine the horror of a son finding his father like that. I found my father (From a heart attack) I was 15 at the time. That is an image 40 years later I live with and it was natural causes passing. I share this because I feel awful for the image his son now has to live with. Far more difficult for him to cope with his loss.

  7. I don't like Claude Lemieux but he was a good hockey player but cooked ruthless cutthroat and insensitive player but his death does not change they way he treated people in his life when he was living i don't know why he committed suicide but it's fucked up he did it to his family especially his son and his wife that loved him hopefully I don't know if their relationship was still intact but it's all fucked up

  8. We go to the Dentist every six months for a check up/cleaning. We go to the Dr. once a year for a physical. We should have the ability to check ourselves in for a week/weekend to a mental health facility to just clear the sh*t out of our heads. This is from a man that had a plan to do himself in. Heard a radio commercial for a mental health facility (on the way to do himself in)! Cleared a bunch of excrement from my head. Here I am 35 years later writing this.

    Condolences to the family.

  9. D-Mac.. always a professional, but more importantly… a damn excellent example of a human being. My respect for him cant be greater, but he continues to astound. RiP Claude.. for as much as i hated him as a fan, he did not deserve this fate and will be missed by every hockey fan for years to come.
