We discuss the recent media availability of the Ottawa Senators’ management following the end of the season. Not a ton of information was shared during the press conference, particularly regarding player contracts and future plans. The conversation shifts to Claude Giroux’s future with the team and the potential challenges in contract negotiations. We also delve into Shane Pinto’s desire for more power-play time and the potential competition between Pinto and Dylan Cozens for the second-line center position next season. We talk about the Joel Quenneville hiring in Anaheim, and we have some strong thoughts on Utah’s Mammoth decision on a new name and logo.

  1. To answer your question in the title I say Cozens & Pinto aren't moving anywhere. Cause Cozens is a great 2nd line center and Pinto is a great 3rd line center and those lines have been the most productive since the trade deadline. If anything I would say either Giroux or Batherson move down the lineup so Zetterlund can move up into the Top 6 and not be chained to the 4th line. So actually if Zetterlund were to move up to the top line then move Giroux down to the 2nd line with Cozens and Perron then Batherson on the 4th line with Gaudette and Cousins. I could see something like that playing out cause I agree with Gregg I can't see Giroux being a top line guy next season

  2. Pinto is a great 3rd line centre but hasn’t blossomed filling in as the 2nd line centre when Norris was injured, Cozens will be in his first full year with the Senators next year and will get better. Cozens is younger, and was a higher draft pick than Pinto.
