  1. My concern with Zub is that it looked knee on knee and then his knee buckled as he turned to skate. Everyone seems so intent on the upper body contact, they're missing the leg contact.

  2. Anderson stood on his head. He's "breakable" or at least has been in the past, but ya gotta get to him early – in a game & the series.
Lotta puck to play, still riding w/ you Sens guys.
    Signed,
A guy whose club not even playing now so have adopted OTT. 😉

  3. Canes played a stellar game. That second line will end up being one the Sens won’t be able to stop.

  4. Great review of a disappointing game. Have you guys considered that shaving off your beards prior to the start of the playoffs may have contributed to the loss?

  5. well … is it discouraging? difficult to say. a split after two looks a bit now. winning both home games also rather unlikely. should we believe? yes. will we make it? probably not. perhaps the sens „hype“ was a bit unrealistic. we have a tough and probably better opponent at the moment. this is our own fault as wc2. we simply have to win game 2 now, lift our game, or there is no improvement to last season but improved talking. all this „we have learnt from last seasons experience“ might just be words. i hope not. the realistic chance is still there. to take it, we need to have a real go. we had our chances yesterday, but that wasnt enough. carolina will be smiling and feeling rather safe. to win this, you dont need a brady fight after 3 secs, you need more quality and determination. what you dont need, is to talk the other team big, go out and destroy them.

  6. I don't want Brady to accept a fight next game. Swallow your pride and stay on the ice. We need him on the ice,not in the box😔

  7. Agree with Jack….no fighting for Brady….needs to be on the ice dictating the game…not goalies fault for the game….move Foegele up….Timnot tough enough

  8. Carolina’s tough. We were never going to sweep them. Make some adjustments, bring up the intensity by a gear, shoot the puck more. Back at it on Monday

  9. Canes fan – but wow this podcast is insanely good, watched the whole 40 minutes. I think this is going to be a great series, will be watching you guys throughout…unfortunately I do think we come out on top 😛

  10. Trade Tkachuk. He goes on fighting only to lose. We look like idiots only to leave without the win. Ottawa is better than that.

  11. Canes fan here. I really like that you guys are very honest and realsitic. It's refreshing to watch! I didn't like the Staal/Brady fight because I always fear someone breaking their hand during this stuff.

  12. 0 for 4 on the PP, took 5 penalties and gave them two 5 on 3's and not shooting enough that will do it lol. Also our 2nd periods need to be way better foot off the gas all the time in the 2nd its the naptime period

  13. Canes give teams a lot it's a matter of can the Sens exploit them like the teams in the conference finals always can. They should be able to invite the pressure especially on the PP at the blue line draw 2 or 3 of them out and then you have a 3 on 1 down low it's there every single time if you go back on watch the PPs lots of chances they aren't direct but they are there. Sens can't always look for tape to tape passes move the puck into space and you'll have success try and play cute and you won't what will the Sens choose to do the video will show a lot of ways to exploit this Canes team and the Sens have the defensive game that they should be able to beat the Canes more often than not if they are smart. Not saying it's going to be easy but if they can change the way they look at the ice it's doable

  14. I definitely agree that Brady shouldn’t have fought. That first period was wide open for the first 5 minutes and that’d be a different game if they had Brady for it

  15. Canes fan here – great podcast from you guys. Only thing I’ll say is I feel like that fight from Brady was a blessing for us. Sens have been in playoffs mode for weeks. Canes have been resting and taking games off. Aho, Jarvis, Svech, Slavin, Staal, Stankoven, Hall, etc have all taken multiple games off recently. Sens had a big chance I think to catch us flat footed in the first period. Brady forcing that fight brought everyone right into the game. Huge for our sometimes sleepy players at the start of games.

  16. We were completely outclassed. We really need to make crisper passes and get our mojo back, we felt discombobulated offensively the whole game. Really did feel like the bounces went heavily in Carolina's favour even though I also hate that excuse

  17. Canes Fan – I really enjoyed your conversation, thoughts on the game and appreciate your take on the cancelled goal call. It was crazy to risk an injury with the puck drop fight for no purpose. Brady got to wear evidence of Staal's last punch. Staal isn't a fighter, but he is a big man in probably the best shape he has been in for years.

We have had better individual players in the past, but this is the best team we have ever had. If Andersen can stay healthy and Bussi can continue to perform, our chances are very good.

Thanks for your insights on the game.

  18. Another Canes fan here. This was genuinely an awesome pod. You guys really give unbiased, realistic analysis and are clearly just genuine fans of hockey while supporting your team. Cheers
