2nd post.. the wings need to copy Floridas forecheck strategy and sign guys that can execute it. I can see Copp thriving in that system, Compher, not so much.. Finnie, Mazur, Ras, these bigger type guys would be much more effective with a Florida type forecheck. Steve, please get some hard checking bangers in the off season!!!!!
6:30… –> J.T Compher had 22 hits over 82 games! Söderblom had more in his first 5 games after the trade deadline for Pittsburgh. But Elmer was "soft" strictly because he is a euro player, right? We essentielly replaced Elmer (we trades him to Pittsburgh simple because we needed another 3rd round pick after the trade for…) Perron, who effectively hurt this team with -10, 18PiM and just 3 points in 16 games… Maybe we should STOP trading AWAY young size and physicallity, instead of collecting 30+ year old "jerseys" doing cardio every game… Say what you want about Söderblom's production in Detroit, point stands when he ACTUALLY got a legit chance (playing 15+ mins a game on a 3rd line) he showed what this team obviously where not valueing with playing 8 mins a night on a 4th line with the ultimate cardio north american players in Compher & Rasmussen (8 PiM the whole season compared to Edvinsson 75 as the team leader in fights and physicallity).
But yeah, euro players are to "soft" is all im hearing, maybe look at the REAL issue on this team, it sure isn’t the euros not giving the real effort (Kasper lead the team in hits & should be the guy to keep around between him and Nate Danielson, who just had 3 hits in 18 games…) game in, game out…
the reason this team keeps wiping out coaches/rosters & failing is because they're trying to build on a weak foundation. Larkin is not a leader or captain material at all. Trade that clown and start a proper rebuild
Not once has he used the phrase my team. He talks like he’s not even on the team. I don’t think he’s a good fit for Detroit. He needs to be more physical. Started out in Detroit that way maybe for his first year and then nothing. He needs to go.
Dude leaves the backdoor open so often heust have been born in a barn. He's gotten better the past year or so but he's such a liability. Good fella but we need to find better.
I personally like Chariot, despite all the hate he gets. He makes bonehead plays once in a while but he's also one of the very few players who isn't afraid to be physical. That's exactly what we need if and when we make the playoffs.
His style fits Todd's style. Guys like Compher and Rasmussen definitely do not. All my hope will be lost next season if those 2 guys are still on the team.
We need a huge roster shakeup. I'm open to trading anybody but Seider if it gets us an upgrade. We desperately need a 1C, at the very least a 2C.
Ben is also one of the only good interviewees on the roster. The rest of them look like deer in the headlights.

buy out Rasmussen… bring up young gun from GR… Rasmussen is a waste of space in the lineup.

Why did Detroit extend this guy 3 more years at 3.85 million dollars a year? He is not a top 4 defenseman anymore.
Seems like a decent guy but consistently one of the worst defensemen in the league. A joke he got an extension.
