  1. Another CHGO take over win, if I were the Hawks, I would have a CHGO take over for EVERY home game! let's Go Hawks!!!

  2. Ok, that was interesting.. The Hawks played like ass for the first 40 minutes and then looked unstoppable for the final 20.. And that 1st period was brutal – their age and inexperience really showed, lol… Watching this team is just so frustrating at times because the talent is clearly there – it's just the continuous youthful rookie mistakes which most teams can handle because most teams usually only have a few kids on their roster making those mistakes and the veterans will generally bail them out when they do – but when you have an entire team of kids – shit can get ugly at times, lol.. But look, at least we can finally put this season in the past and look towards the future… The real question is what does next seasons roster look like?? because realistically NOW is the time to start laying some bricks and rounding out the core and making some tough decisions – who stays, who goes because the Hawks have way too many young talented players and not enough roster spaces, so Davidson should consolidate some of these kids and perhaps some picks if needed and TRY to land a legitimate impact player that can help this team take the next step and ideally be a permanent part of the future. Obviously those type of players don't grow on trees, so it's a lot easier said than done but if any GM in the league has the assets to make it happen without setting this team/roster back or delaying the rebuild in any way it's Kyle Davidson.. I mean there is zero doubt in my mind that the Leafs will trade Auston Matthews this summer, and if I were Auston Matthews I'd want out of Toronto too, but if you're Kyle Davidson do you pick up the phone?? because in theory Matthews would be an ideal fit, but at what cost? not only from a trade perspective, but from a long-term salary cap perspective.. Of course with all of the picks the Hawks have do you trade up in the draft if the Hawks are outside the top 2? or even possibly try to acquire another top 5 pick?? because picking a couple of times in the top 5 wouldn't be a bad way to end this rebuild – I mean Davidson could walk away from the draft with one of the top defenseman, and Gavin McKenna or Stenberg… I suppose the point is that Davidson and the Hawks have PLENTY of options to do pretty much whatever they want – they have the assets in spades and as I pointed out – Davidson, as far as "trade value" can make a significant trade without setting the rebuild back and keep in mind some of these kids will have to be moved anyway and Davidson can put a real attractive package together for a team that's looking to rebuild, "retool" or even restock their farm with some quality talent that may need a couple of seasons to develop before they're NHL ready.

  3. They gotta quit talking about the development and points do matter we once again are out of the playoffs third year of rebuild enough trade some assets to get a proven scorer and get one or two defenseman that you know is back there they will take the body tired of hearing rebuild rebuild development. There are no guarantees next year if you don’t change this roster to some extent.

  4. the question that needs to be asked is what drove that 11 point improvement? was it improved systems, do the underlying numbers point to a sustainable trend? or was it Bedard and Knight going psycho for the first half of the season? it's extremely frustrating to hear people just say "they got 11 more points!" without actually digging into anything.

  5. That's a wonderful quote from Bedard about not being checked out but actions speak louder than words and we all saw the last 10 games. If that's them not checked out I have even bigger concerns.

  6. Thank you for this season's coverage Jay, Greg, Mario and the crew, Chloe and who else I don't know. Definitely a rough and frustrating end to the season, 11-21-7 since January 7th, and only two wins in their last 10. How about we give the game puck to the UC crowd in this one. How they've stuck with this team through some really rough, bad stretches and filled the stadium no matter shows some really great support. Late fluky goal by Sam Rinzel in the 2nd gave us a lifeline. All of Hawks fandom deserved at least one decent performance before the end of the year. Now I want to see some real changes til next season and some assertive reasons to why we should feel and expect better from this organization.

  7. We win a meaningless game and now the full on copium returns. Nothing has magically made KD a competent GM. The team still have up on their coach the final month of the season.

  8. Favorite players this season: Kaiser, Bertuzzi, Mikheyev, these three in my mind competed the hardest every single night. Fun surprises: Louis Crevier slapshot, the guy has a sense for scoring and joining on the rush, kinda reminds me of the way Brent Seabrook scored his goals. Ryan Greene, Nick Landis. Connor showed improvement this year, I think everyone knows he can be better and more effective, including himself, and still he gets a P/G season. Lots to be asked still from the D in general but I'm sure the potential is there. Oliver Moore showed what kind of impact he can have and it looks good. If we get to draft either Stenberg or McKenna then I think we can rest pretty easy with the draft picks for the next eight years or so.

  9. According to Boysen, Leafs trading Knies (their only young star) in a rebuild makes no sense, but trading DeBrincat and Hagel, both comparable in age to Knies when the Hawks traded them, does???

  10. I just want to be able to watch them next year. CHSN needs to get the Marquee deal and get on board with real Mass Market providers like Hulu, YT, etc.
