The Battle of Pennsylvania RETURNS with Penguins-Flyers in round one!



It’s official! The Penguins and Flyers will meet in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs! Patrick and Hunter begin the show by taking a look at Monday night’s action, which gave us our answer of who the Penguins will face in the first round, and it is none other than their rivals from eastern Pennsylvania, the Philadelphia Flyers. They take a quick look at the series on the surface, the players, the narratives, and what to expect from one of the best rivalries in hockey. (0:00) Then, they recap the season series between the Penguins and Flyers, which saw both teams split 2-2. However, what may be a bit of a wrench in the machine for the Flyers is the fact that both of their wins came in shootouts. (14:40) Finally, the Penguins’ season comes to a close tonight in St. Louis, and while most of the regulars will be resting, collegiate free agent signing Jake Livanavage is expected to make his NHL debut!     My sis is married to a dude from Philly. Their son is like 10, plays hockey and is a Pens fan so far (smart kid).

    Young minds are impressionable though, so we need this series win!

    Good afternoon guys, I'll make this short……….Pens in 6 (would be 5 but refs beating up our rookie coach gave them a game the Flyers didn't deserve), Sid goes off on them (what's new), our guy's get an extra day or two rest before the next series.

    Never in my life did I think I would ever go to a game anywhere near to game 82 (last regular season game) lol I'm actually very excited about it despite it being kind of a weird one this year

    A Pens and Flyers playoff series again, it just feels right lol. I really think this is gonna be a good series. I really doubt it's gonna be a gong show or anything, the Flyers don't have any Zac Rinaldo types anymore. If anything Washington would have been the gong show, because since it's the playoffs Tom Wilson and Brandon Duhaime would have been running all over the place, so I'm glad to avoid Washington.

    I heard someone saying that it's a disadvantage that we are resting guys, because then the flyers will go into game 1 guns blazing and ready to go / already warmed up. I think resting the vets are important but I wanted to know your thoughts?
