The miss alignment started with Pellwy giving Berube decision making for the roster. Pelley should have been fired first.
Most years having the coach and gm ready for draft day is important. This year, we don't have that problem – no draft picks thanks to Brad🤷

Why hire someone with a not so good track record? Names out there make no sense. All teams in league should open up Intern positions so more people get get opportunities down the road. Better selection process. If leafs had an intern position offered 10 years ago they would have their GM now and ready.

Is Florida teams good bc the coach and management? Or are they good bc they can sign guys for less on the cap.
No to Gillis-his track record is much like Treliving’s-nothing to brag about.

Another thing. Why is Berube not pushing any of the rookies or marlies to play…..I think Berube should be replaced, but the new gm will get his own I would imagine.
They need more than a gm they need a president too
Pelley is not guy to be hiring people for these positions, he is does not have enough knowledge.
I would bring in Scott White & Les Jackson. Both are attached to the Dallas Stars. Who is a great sustainable franchise in the league. That always seems to be in the cup convos.
Darren Yorke as well to me is also a great candidate because he knows how to apply analytics and can also balance the hockey aspects I think fans want.
Whoever gets hired has to have a roadmap planned out for AM, WN & MR. Depending on how receptive those 3 are dictates your approach on roster construction.
Absolutely they need both positions to be filled. President, and General Manager! They both demand full time dedication, The requirements of performing the jobs , correctly, and in the best interests of the team, must be done by 2 people, not one. They have the money, spend it, hire 2 people for 2 positions!!

Just keep Cowan and Knies, that's it.

With the track record of losing this organization might be better off with a cpu gm, i'd be worried about being hacked though…
